I love this episode. That set of scenes with Stiles and Melissa at the hospital is one of my favorites in the series. We get to see Melissa really diving into taking a support role for the pack; she may have had a moment when she first found out where she didn't know how to process, but since she changed her perspective at the lacrosse game last season she really has not looked back and she's so badass for it. And it's really cool to see how much she respects Stiles and his place in all of this, especially when you think back to her dynamic with him in season one when she didn't know about all of this and seemed to be used to Stiles as her son's best friend who was a bit of an exasperating dumbass. It makes me think that over the summer Stiles spearheaded bringing Melissa (and probably also Lydia) up to speed on this brave new supernatural world and what squishy humans can do to help out and keep themselves out of danger. Plus it's always awesome to watch Stiles when he's putting all the pieces together. And as awkward as it was to have to ask Caitlyn the question he was asking, it was really impressive to see how Stiles went about it. He approached her with great sensitivity and understanding. I imagine that after everything she saw it might have actually been reassuring to have someone ask her about it who doesn't seem to think that she was hallucinating or taking stupid risks, and seems to have some idea what's happening. And the look that Melissa gave Stiles when he guessed that it was Emily's first time and she put together what that might mean about Heather and Stiles was beautifully devastating. Anyway, also: Chris Argent's uneasy ally dynamic with Scott continues! Argent giving Derek, Isaac, and Scott lessons on werewolf hunting! Allison starting to define a new role for herself in hunting and with the pack! And of course, always, everything Stiles and Lydia! It's all here.
