I've recently lost my mum to cancer, after a battle that lasted 6 long years. I have to agree with what you said Harry, about refusing treatment feeling more like 'accepting it' rather than 'giving up'. But I also understand the first reaction of a kid being hurt by such a decision. Also, I completely relate to the difficulty of thinking about your own future when a parent may not have one. It is a heavy thing to go through and everyone goes through it differently. So, all in all, I do appreciate the way they portrayed this type of situations in a show about magic (so far at least, my first time watching too) :)
