TVD will be out in just over an hour! Tis compressing as I type

I believe the scene from S1 that you're thinking of is the scene where Crowley bombs the church with the Nazis and saves Aziraphale's books. For a bit of meta, according to Michael Sheen, that's when he believes Aziraphale realizes he's in love with Crowley. However, it must be said that he's also been a shipper of these two since well before the show, so he likely also has some bias.

Just to answer some questions and confusions you had: The voice of God may just be familiar because she narrated the whole first season. The story of Job is actually in the Bible. Quite horrible. (A lot of people have said it’s their favorite Bible story, but I haven’t read it either lmao) Crowley and Aziraphale can get drunk! They did in the first episode of the show. Speaking of the first episode, that book did have the first sentence of the show. That was the real book Good Omens. Both the Bible and Good Omens begin with “In the beginning” which is why Gabriel was being like that. The Good Omens book has two authors, one has passed away, and the other is the writer for this show. Season 1 is based on the book, Season 3 is to be based on the sequel that never got written, and Season 2 is the bridge between them.

Peter Davidson, David Tennant, and Ty Tennant all in the same episode. A true family affair!

Oz

Clarifying, in case Harry doesn't know: Peter Davidson is David Tennant's father-in-law.

Ohhhh I think someone commented that before so that must be why my brain remembered!

Cole

By the way, the book was released in 1990.

It's sort of interesting to think of Crowley *as* Job. He's basically never done anything wrong and yet, he was punished. Despite this, he still continues to do good (protect Job's children), not because he's getting rewarded, but because it's the right thing to do.

I feel like with a lot of queer stories, it's hard to do a slow-burn because it can come across as queer-baity or some people *will* just watch it with heteronormative googles and feel like it "came out of nowhere." As a result, a lot of queer shows have to be very upfront (Heartstopper, Young Royals), but I love a slow burn, so it's nice to have a 6,000-year-long one.

About Aziraphale's angel ranking: it's mentioned in the show that Aziraphale is Principality, although I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere before that he was originally a Cherub but got demoted after he gave his flaming sword away. Either way though both of those rankings are below an Archangel, meaning that he alone couldn't have done as big of a miracle as they did together with Crowley when hiding Gabriel. It's actually quite a popular fan theory that Crowley was a very high ranking angel before he fell. There's also a theory that the reason the miracle ended up being so powerful is because Crowley and Aziraphale did it together and when they join forces they actually end up being way more powerful than even they themselves were aware of. I'm fairly certain that the season one scene you were talking about with Crowley doing something for Aziraphale is the flashback scene from 1941 when the bomb hit the church they were in and Crowley did a miracle to save Aziraphale's books. I think I actually mentioned this in a comment I left under the previous episode, but I'm not sure if you read them every time. Either way, Michael Sheen has actually said before that that was the specific moment when Aziraphale realised he was in love with Crowley, which I can definitely see based on the reaction he has when Crowley hands him the books🥹❤️ Also I fully agree with what you said about Aziraphale already being aware of his feelings for Crowley but Crowley not. I think at this point Crowley just knows he wants to spend time with Aziraphale and loves being near him, but he hasn't really thought about why and simply lives in the blissful ignorance haha

Helmi

True. I mean even with Good Omens before season two came out there were SO MANY people arguing that there was nothing romantic between Crowley and Aziraphale, even though to me it was always pretty damn obvious.
