Heads up for Dropbox viewers, the limit when viewing in browser is 2 hours, so to watch the last 3 mins you'll either have to download or move over to Google Drive!

It’s kinda sad cause I think in a way, Queen Charlotte became Princess Augusta. They both had to grow tough skin, they both spent their lives shielding George from the world, and they both ruled in practice while their sons ruled in name. Charlotte comes across as someone who’s so lonely because she had to keep everyone at arms’ length to protect George. Maybe that’s why she’s obsessed with Lady Whistledown.

I think you could see at the end when Charlotte was telling George that she was pregnant again that she’d somewhat switched from seeing her children as her children to seeing them as political tools and a representation of George’s legacy.

I interpreted that scene in the bath as Reynolds saying him and Brimsley can’t be together if George doesn’t get better. So my theory is that because George’s condition didn’t improve, they broke up and as the years went on they stopped seeing each other because George and Charlotte were living separately. Wish we got to see the older him though 🥺

I never thought about the fact she'd have to keep poeple at arms length due to the illness, wow. Especially with her being queen, she never stood a chance at heaving 'real' friends

It was a tough watch, its understandable seeing her position but looking at how much her kids were BEGGING (without saying it ofc) for her love, even at their ages 😭

Every single time. Brimsley dancing alone feels like a gut punch and I'm sobbing from 0-60 instantly. Then I pull it together and say, nonononono from the time Edward and Victoria come to tell Charlotte about little Victoria to the feet under the bed...I just fall apart somewhere in there and end the show laughing at what a mess I am. Thank you for the lovely evening watching with you!

I think Charlotte absolutely loves her children for who they are! But, she has a task. One that her husband is wholly invested in but cannot oversee. I think her only real "failing" is getting too singularly focused. But, think, do children who've been neglected or who feel their mother hates them go to that person in an appeal? Do they fight back? Do they come to them in joy when they've succeeded? I wouldn't. I'd hide, I'd scheme to supplant them. I'd withhold from them. But her children don't! She was their mother...and she let them live their lives for decades! She didnt marry her girls off young, or her boys until there was no other better option available - but she had a purpose that she owed to George as the man she loved who deserved what he could not manage himself. It sucks that they were put 2nd at times...but she put herself last. Defense over! 😀
