This show continues to have some of the most horrific storylines that somehow still leave me feeling comforted and happy by the end 😂

In answer to your question, the origin episodes are usually "[Insert Name Here] Begins", so "Chimney Begins" or "Buck Begins"

this might be my least favorite episode of the season but i still enjoyed your reaction. you picking up on the bobby/buck father son vibes was everything! that relationship is so special to me. there’s aspects of this episode that i completely forgot and it’s so weird to think about in retrospect. season 1 really is such a different vibe but i’m glad you seem to be enjoying it a lot.

I love reading stuff like this cause it often means the future seasons are even better! It's honestly one of the best opening seasons I've seen, doesn't feel rough around the edges and the characters are SO endearing

I have synesthesia where I associate things with colors and I'll just say future seasons are a very different color than this one. S1 is kind of warm brown and then afterward, it turns abruptly yellow with sections of blue here and there. Not every future season is perfect, but I think most fans consider S2 and on to be the "true" 9-1-1.

you have me thinking of other shows and their first seasons and you’re right, this one is pretty solid considering. the characters are lovable, the found family is already found family-ing, and you get invested in them and their stories pretty quickly. it isn’t a bad season by any means, it’s just different.

Oh god. The Abby and Tommy backstory. That does in fact come up at some point. But the reasoning why/how it does is one of the more amusing pieces of show writing.
