Elizabeth Gates

Bridgerton (or at least Eloise) seems to believe that she cannot be friends with both Cressida and Penelope at the same time, so as she warms more to Penelope again, she also gives Cressida a pretty cold shoulder. Do you think, given Penelope's and Cressida's history, it did have to be a choice of one or the other?

Colin obviously knows that Penelope has been holding something back. What do you think he thought her secret was before the Whistledown reveal? I sort of wondered if he thought she was writing to Debling when he saw the ink on her hands, especially since his and Pen's relationship deepened through letters (and given she didn't confess her own love for him until they were at the church).

How do you feel about how Violet’s treating Colin & Pen’s engagement compared to Fran and John’s courtship? Why do you think she’s acting that way?

What do you think about Eloise’s treatment of Cressida this episode (given she knows the truth of LW’s identity)? And do you think Penelope should’ve let Cressida take credit for LW?

We talked in season 1 about how Simon not telling Daphne the truth about not wanting children rather than being unable to have them was borderline entrapment as she wouldn’t be able to divorce him once they were married. Since you didn’t talk about it in the previous episode, do you think Penelope was wrong to sleep with Colin without telling him the truth about LW? Given that they would be obliged to wed in the eyes of society now that they have had sex?
