What a fantastic season! It definately had its cracks (which we go into detail with at the end, thanks for the great questions as always) but overall I really enjoyed it. Loved getting to go more in-depth with characters who needed some time to shine. The wait for S4 is going to be long and PAINFUL but I am so excited to see what they do with it!!

P.s. sorry for my mic sounding a little different, new PC and turns out I did not like these settings as much as I thought I did 😂 should be closer to the way it was before for the next video

Bit of a long video so the file size is QUITE large, didn't wanna fuck up the quality as I can finally make things look better with this PC, but can't help it when I yapped for 2 hours 😂

watching bridgerton w you has been so fun, i'm def gonna miss your bridgerton reactions. now we're just in the waiting game for season 4. i really hope we find out the release date soon T-T looking like it may be early 2026 as they finish filming for season 4 in april. i'm kind of hoping for a december or january release at the earliest.

Hali

I can’t believe this is the last Bridgerton video for like a year 😭

As happy as I would be for some sapphic representation in this show, I was kinda bummed when it seemed to be with Francesca. Like they spent this whole season showing us that they don't have to be outgoing and bold to show that they love each other. I've really enjoyed how her and Lord Kilmartin together, how they both are quiet people and how much they enjoy each other's company. And now the vibes I get is the same as you, where she finally realizes what her mom meant, which just to me seems to undermine everything she said to her mom before about how love doesn't always have to be how she experienced it. Every time I have watched your reaction this season on their relationship and how appreciative you are of them, I have been thinking of this episode. I would be much happier if it were Eloise who finds love with a woman tbh.

Kitty Underwood

George is the King, but their eldest son is the Reagent. Remember in Queen Charlotte when she was forcing two of her sons to get married, and they brought their older brother to say that she didn't have the power to force them because he was actually in charge? And then she immediately got him to agree to their marriages? In name he is the one in charge, but I think everyone knows it's actually Charlotte lol

Kitty Underwood

Also, as much as I love Eloise, she hasn't always been the best friend to Penelope either tbh. I've watched this show a few times which makes it easier to pick up on things. She wasn't as bad toward Penelope as she was toward Cressida, but she has always come off as self absorbed and self important. Not because she doesn't want to conform to the role society has given to women, I'm all for that, but she just assumes that because she doesn't care about love or marriage that Penelope is the same. She talks over Penelope a few times, and disregards what she wants or says. With Cressida it is somewhat understandable given Cressida is pretty horrible in the early seasons. But in this season she has been lovely, and Eloise talks about the friendship souring even though at that point Cressida had done or said nothing negative to her, and it was Eloise who had soured the friendship. To me it seemed it was because Eloise was caught up with Penelope, Colin, and Lady Whistledown, and didn't have time to think about or worry about Cressida's problems. Which is not dissimilar to how she treated Penelope in season one, that her and Cressida's problems are trivial compared to whatever it is Eloise is worried about

The frustrating thing is that with such minor tweaks they could still do the queer Francesca story (bi etc people exist, sometimes even more than one in a family!) without seemingly invalidating the message that love comes in different forms. Don't have her little look of seeingly not feeling John's kiss at the wedding, and when she gets introduced to Michaela tone down her reaction a bit. Maybe have Michaela have a reaction that indicates she may be interested but not much from Francesca. That way anyone with book knowledge knows what's happening down the line (it's a gender bend situation Harry - Michael to Michaela) but it more or less goes over the head of the TV only audience. Without getting into spoilers there are other reasons why her storyline is an odd one to genderbend as there are some specific gender related elements to it but that doesn't bother me much as there could be other interesting stories opened up by the switch. I'm mostly in wait and see, keeping an open mind mode with this story but a bit bummed as you say.

Kitty Underwood

I commented this before listening to all of the questions answered, so I'm glad to see others agree with me

Kitty Underwood

I haven't read the books so I actually thought it was the same in the books. Also tbf, if they chose Eloise for a sapphic/queer storyline, she would still be bi/pan because we've already seen her have romantic feelings for the newspaper guy (blanking on his name). If they wanted an actual lesbian then it could've been Hyacinth as Harry suggested. Or even just Eloise's hypothetical partner could be a lesbian while Eloise is bi herself. But the word you chose is correct, them showing this immediate attraction on Francesca's behalf seemingly invalidates everything they've been telling us about her relationship all season

I really love this season overall, it has some of my absolute favourite scenes of the whole show. I tend to be a friends to lovers fan so the first part in particular really worked for me. I was generally satisfied with the main plot, I would have liked a bit more of certain things, especially a bit more post reconciliation and a bit more Colin character and family stuff, but pretty happy with what was there.

Michelle

I loved your reactions so much to all of the seasons. Considering season 3 is my favorite it has been so nice to see you genuinely enjoy it. I truly appreciate how you take the time to understand each character and your thoughts on some of the characters/storylines have made me think about things differently which just added onto my enjoyment of the seasons. I get what you mean when you say you like how it wasn't completely centered around romance and more about self discovery, it is nice that we got to see our leads grow within themselves (although I wish we got more of Colin's self love journey which is my biggest gripe with this season) and then find true love with each other. I am a sucker for Pen and Colin and can't wait to see more of them in season 4.

Laura W

I have my concerns about the Francesca plot but am in wait and see mode and can see ways it could be good. The only subplot I'm really annoyed about is Benedict. For the record I generally enjoy his character and am looking forward to his story. I think the reason why I'm so annoyed is because I don't think it's "fixable" for me in the time left. I've been on board queer Benedict, but if they were going to explore it it needed to be last season. Have him explore his sexuality along with his art in season 2 and then you can really get into it in season 3. As it is, it just seems like it's not really going anywhere, he still thinks he doesn't want to commit to anyone same as at the start of the season but I'm assuming he'll meet and immediately fall for his love interest at the start of season 4 so just... What's the point? I wouldn't mind his plot taking up so much time if it seemed important but it just.... doesn't. Maybe I'll be wrong. Hopefully I am.

Laura W

Fun detail that wasn't made explicit in the show but people wondered and it was confirmed by the show runner. The epilogue is one year later, and yes that is Colin and Penelope's 4 month old baby a year after their wedding. Yes, they did get pregnant their first time, good job they went through with the wedding!

Hali

A lot of people hate the Francesca plot because they 1) didn’t like that her love interest was gender bent and 2) felt like the reveal that she’s queer undermined her love story with John. I disagree because despite the gender bend I fully believe they intend for Francesca to be bisexual (or pan) and go through a similar love story that she did in her book. No spoilers but those who’ve read it might get what I mean. SLIGHT BOOK SPOILERS (don’t read, Harry!) Fran is the only Bridgerton sibling who gets to experience 2 great loves in 2 different ways – there’s no reason to believe it won’t be the same in the show.

Hali

I think a lot of the issues with this season are just issues with the Bridgerton formula. Episode 6 is the climax of the major conflict, episode 7 is the fallout, episode 8 is the reconciliation. In both seasons 2 & 3 the main characters do something ruinous and it’s resolved by the Queen saying “it’s fine”. I do however think the LW plot will continue on into s4 based on the convo Pen and Colin had after the reveal. A lot of these conflicts would be better explored post-fallout if the show had more than 8 episodes.

Hali

Eloise and Pen being angry about the blackmail makes sense to me but I would’ve loved if Eloise during that meeting had tried to defend Cressida’s perspective while being angry at her actions or even been the one to go and visit her and try to change her mind from a more empathetic angle.

Hali

I think Benedict’s “openness” could be relevant to his love interest, but yeah it did feel pointless this season. It really depends on how it’s handled in his season.

Hali

My favourite parts of this season was the exploration of Colin and Penelope as individuals & Penelope and Portia’s relationship. I love the depth given to all the relationships which I felt was lacking from supporting characters in previous seasons compared to this season. But to be fair, I love ensemble shows so maybe that’s why I’m okay with the subplots 😭

Harry Allen

Hit the nail on the head of what I was struggling to say, ensemble shows are my favourite. I don't HATE when there is a story with a main character and you mostly follow them the whole way, but it just doesn't compare to an ensemble for me

Harry Allen

Yeah I was very dissapointed with Eloise this season and especially in that scene. Felt way too dismissive towards someone that she seemed to grow a genuine bond with, hopefully Scotland will give Eloise some perspective for next season

Harry Allen

Ngl I had never put together that episodes 6-8 all follow the same vibe. S3 really did feel like the first one that felt very constrained from only having 8 episodes, there is just so much to cover in a single season (in-universe season I mean) that a single season of TV with 8 episodes doesn't cut it. I just want them to do more spinoffs that let us explore other sotrylines more deeply.

Harry Allen

Eyes staying on the top text lol. I do understand annoyance at gender bending to a degree as if that person was a genuinely great guy and the reader fell in love with them, then having their gender swapped would feel dissapointing. However in most cases I really don't mind it, my biggest issue looking back is, as you said, the fact it undermines the entire stroyline of seeing different love. Felt like Violet herself got to have a revelation and now its like ? did none of that matter or count? But yeah making her character bi and following that would be the best of both worlds for me, just gotta see what they do with S4

Harry Allen

Oh shiiii, being one year later, does that mean its at the start of the end of the next social season? Cause if its the end then it would mean we going back in time from that scene when we get to S4

Harry Allen

Wholeheartedly agree, its annoying but we just gonna have to see what they do with this development come S4. I have seen an image of the potential love interest (pretty sure but I swiped away quick lmao) and it felt singular. So I hope S4 isn't just a couple episodes of him being with other people before settling and thats that, conversation over ya know

Harry Allen

Aww thank you very much! Hard agree on the Colin side of things, sitting here now its very dissapointing to think that was HIS season and yet there were still a few major things not covered, like all the family stuff for one which is arguably the biggest obstacle he has had. I just hope with how Penelope has to be more involved due to Whistledown, that we get some more exploration for him in S4

Harry Allen

Honestly it made me appreaite friends to lovers a lot more, it was just so sweet watching Colin slowly realise his feelings and then being like FUCK 😂

Harry Allen

Interesting, I have just started editing S1 for YouTube so I am gonna keep my eye out for lots of things that I may have missed but deffo watching out for Eloise, I just felt so much less attached to her this season based on how she behaved. Its just so frustrating with the Cressida stuff cause I don't blame Penelope at ALL for thinking she is basically evil with what she has seen, but knowing Eloise had that heart to heart with Cressida previously and had nothing nice to say about her stung a little

Harry Allen

Aww thank you, ima miss them so much too 😭 everyone has been amazing discussing in the comments and ima miss getting see everyones takes on the show. Praying slots line up for S4 so we can all watch together for once

Leila Davis-Middleton

my thing is most of the male love interests in the books are kinda insanely problematic - the show absolutely writes the bridgerton men and the male love interests far better. it's important to note (not to sound mean or anything) - the books are hardly the works of art alot of fans treat them as, they're kinda trashy period romance novels so when ppl go so hard for the books and bash the show bc it's not exactly like the books, i never rlly understand it bc the show is already miles better but i get having an attachment to a book series ig. i also typically struggle to read their treatment of michaela as anything other than just bigotry bc most of their excuses as to why they don't like her switch feel super nitpicky.

Laura W

Good question! I assume we'll pick up around the time of the epilogue or shortly after, so the Scotland crew and Kate and Anthony in India will have had time to do their thing off screen and be on their way back at the start of s4 otherwise we'll be missing half the main cast! Maybe a very mild spoiler, it's been hinted at that s4 may cover a different time of year to previous and (just speculation I think) may span a longer time period in show than previous seasons so we'll see. In general though, the timelines on this show tend to be a bit wibbly wobbly so it may just make no sense at all.

Kitty Underwood

I don't think Eloise is a bad person, or was intentionally a bad friend to Pen, and overall I think she is a good friend to her. I just think there are moments when she could have been better, but she was too caught up in her own concerns. And tbf, Pen wasn't always a great friend either and did lie to her
