Google Drive Tip: It takes time for Google Drive to process videos. If it says "still processing" or is only allowing you to view at 360p, then you can always come back later or download the video in full

Dropbox Tip: The quality of the video is lower while streaming so I recommend downloading or using google drive if thats an issue

I do agree that Lestat is manipulative. He propositioned Louis about becoming a vampire when Louis was at his lowest. You can even look at him letting Louis burn in the sun from the lens of Lestat using that as a tactic to get Louis to trust him. Their relationship was always going to have an element of predator-prey/grooming due to the massive gap in age and life experience. The racial component adds to it too because Lestat as a white man in NOLA serves as both saviour and protector for Louis in many situations.

Harry Allen

Everything has been so complex so far I fear my brain didn't even go to the age aspect of their relationship. Really good point!

Elizabeth Gates

My head canon about why there are so few vampires are a) they're kind of suicidal and b) turning someone into a vampire puts you in a vulnerable situation (Lestat gasping essentially helpless on the altar) so you have to trust the fledgling not to kill you in that moment. Also, Louis will always be Lestat's fledgling because he turned him. It's just the common term for that relationship. Sometimes, in this fandom, the people you convince to watch IWTV are considered your "fledlings."

Elizabeth Gates

Oh, for sure, Lestat is both very manipulative and the power dynamic is unbalanced. I just don't equate what he did to Louis as "compulsion" a la the Vampire Diaries, but basically comes down to having a personality/skills that would be almost as effective as if he were human.
