Yeah Stiles‘ family is polish from both sides actually! His mothers last name is Gajos which is a polish last name and Stilinski is supposed to sound polish doesn‘t actually exist like that though. Stiles‘ first name is, as the sherif confides to Scott in the episode that they talked to his father, the first name of Claudia’s father. Claudia (Klaudia) is a very polish name as is Mieczysław (duh) which is why there’s a popular fandom theory that while Noah’s family is polish, they’ve probably been in the USA for a couple generations, hence the polish sounding but not quite authentic last name. But Claudia’s father was likely first generation immigrant! I think it fits the names and how far they’re actually cultural really well.
