Well that was bloody heartbreaking 🥺 glad we got a nice moment with Buck and Maddie at the end though, it was needed after the pain of Red 😭

Omg. I'm so glad Hoover got out okay but then the lady popped up on screen and I was like..."ARE YOU GLADYS!?!?" It's sad but also I'm...giggling at Golden Retriever Buck saving a kitten and calling it Gladys. Like please. Stop adorabling all over the place, sir. That roof jump had all my parts clenching. No safety equipment, nothing!?!? The 118's Best Bois sure do live life on the edge. I do love the audio trick as well. Without words they showed us how terrifying it must have been for human-Gladys. Not only was it so confusing and scary but she's got no fucking clue what's happening even while she's being rescued. Awful. "I found Cindy!" "I didn't know she was lost" took me out LOL. I really connect so much to Buck's loneliness and feeling like the one who gets left behind. It's a little different for him - I am aroace so I've no desire to find a romantic partner to share a life with but that also makes this episode hit close to home in a sense because I do already know that I won't have anyone even if I live to an old age. It's the same way I connected to Heartstopper's Isaac's asexual storyline. Isaac and Buck both feel a bit like outsiders even in their friend group even though they're like family. And they WILL be left behind in one way or another because that's just life. It gets busy. People get married, have kids, etc. Obviously, Buck won't have that same obstacle as Isaac and I do hope he finds a GOOD partner to end up with. He's such a kind hearted puppy dog and he's clearly good with kids as we've seen with Christopher. Buck is such a good egg though, isn't he?? That scene with him wheeling Red out of the hospital had me crying. He went to all that trouble because he didn't want Red to feel like he's alone. And I hated that "I made it about me" thing - they said earlier on in the episode too. So what if Buck related to Red? He's not "making it about him", he's genuinely just trying to help. I do think (or hope) that it's a bit different with the 118 because it's not just that they work together. It's been stated before in not so many words that they're each other's chosen family. And you don't have to work with your family to spend time and be with them. So maybe Buck making the 118 the most important thing in his life isn't the same as Red and his old house. It's not JUST about the job. Buck loves the people there too. I hope that even when they're all retired, they'd still be each other's chosen family. Buck broke my heart the way he was this episode. Him saying "you promise?" to Maddie at the end was so very little boy of him. I want a happy story for Buck now please 🥺

It's so funny what you said at the beginning of the episode because I literally witnessed a man being hit by a lorry (aka truck in American) a few weeks ago and in my panic to call emergency services, I forgot that it's NOT 9-1-1 and had to think for a good minute to remember 999. I also completely panicked on the line and couldn't remember the word "lorry" thanks to all the Americanisms of this show and went "A pedestrian got hit by a...truck? Van? Rectangular vehicle!!" 🤣🤣🤣 I've been informed that I am now a "crucial witness" and I sincerely hope my call never gets used in evidence of some sort. I blame it on the trauma.
