Great start to the season! Was a rough ending as things are feeling a little bleak once again, but I will be keeping optimistic as at least Landon and Hope are okay for now, so thats something lol

Dropbox Tip: The quality of the video is lower while streaming so I recommend downloading or using google drive if thats an issue

I don't know if you have a specific place where you take show recommendations, but since you have a short show poll coming up soonish I want to recommend A Discovery of Witches (3 seasons) and Crazy Ex Girlfriend (4 seasons). I think you'd really enjoy both of these shows, for very different reasons

i have genuinely loved this episode so much for several reasons. one of them, above all, being Raf. never been the hugest fan of Julie Plec and other writers during the TVD days but i would be the biggest liar if i said i didn't enjoy the writing when it came to even the "side" characters on Legacies. he's just so beautifully written. never would we have seen it in TVD or even in TO, a man being so loyal to his friend. yes, they've come a long way, but actual brothers on previous shows have spent at least 100 to 1000 years together always stabbing each other's backs, especially when it came to women (cough, a single girl swapping brothers and them allowing it, and doing whack to each other for her, cough) and there they are, two teenage best friend, never the stabbing, never the toxicity, overall, just super loyal and beautiful souls. i could stand there and be the biggest TO fan but god, this show is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to relationship, friendly or otherwise. another thing i really enjoyed is the reason they came up with when it comes to Hope not wanting to come back. i have watched a couple people react to this episode and most of them found this so cliche and it kinda baffled me. everyone is entitled to their opinion of a scene or a writing decision but you can't just watch The Originals and find her decisions regarding death and people cliche. it fit so perfectly with her character, all she's ever know ever since she was a kid, was either not being able to fully know her family for obvious reasons or her never being able to see them again and experiencing death all the time. you don't even have to experience death to know how painful it is loosing someone, for example cutting ties with them, let alone them dying. that is 100% a very valid reason for not wanting to be awake if who you love is no longer by your side. overall, and i'm saying this again for a hundredth time, i've fallen in love with this show and most of all the characters. by far, yes, people may think and it might actually not be on the same level as the previous shows but everything's been very different and fun and original and on it's own, it's kind of a very good show tbh. i wish i could talk about the characters more and maybe just maybe for a discussion point i could write a question on a question post about the characters, cause i have found the writing choices for them so interesting because of a certain aspect, but for now this is way too long already. absolutely can't wait for more!!

I guess the implication with the kiss is that because Landon and Hope are dating, that means it is consensual, whereas Hope and Josie weren't dating so therefore nonconsensual. Obviously I disagree with this reasoning, being in a relationship does not guarantee consent whatsoever. I personally think it also might be a little bit of queerbaiting tbh. We've been told both girls have had crushes on each other at different times, in the Genie episode in one of the AUs they were giving each other the look and flirting and kind've cozying up on the couch, and then in the last episode it was suggested that Hope kiss Josie, only for Hope to have a (valid) reason not to, and then immediately contradict that reason in this episode with a hetero kiss lol
