Post your questions for me to answer at the end of the episodes!!

FAQ for anyone new:

WHAT IS QUESTION TIME?: Here you can ask me ANY questions related to the episode or show as a whole, literally whatever you want, I mean it lol. Because I only read them after finishing the episode, feel free to include any spoilers relating to the episode, just no spoilers after that point!

HOW DOES IT WORK?: I have included a template below for you to follow, that way I can avoid spoilers for future episodes included in the post. I used to do these as seperate posts, however it became quite a lot for peoples inboxes each week and this also allows for me to get a little ahead recording wise.

HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE?: As I do not follow a strict schedule when it comes to recordings, its best to get them in asap to ensure I will get to them. That said, feel free to post whenever! If it gets to the episode and I missed your question, don't hesitate to throw it down on the next one of these, as I am more than happy to backtrack if you wanted to know something in particular!!

EPISODE 3 - - - - - - - - - Some BTS stuff: 1) This was the first episode that was filmed. It took five days to get the take that was eventually used (13 takes!) 2) This was Owen Cooper’s (Jamie) first time on an actual set. This is his first acting role outside of a classroom. He went on to become the youngest Emmy winner for the best supporting actor award (Ashley Walter’s who played the detective in ep1&2 was also nominated). 3) Erin Doherty also won a best supporting actress Emmy for her work in this episode!

EPISODE 3 - - - - - - - - - How do you feel about the order in which we learn about Jamie’s relationship with Katie i.e finding out about the bullying before finding out what led to the ā€œbullyingā€? I thought it was interesting given what the female detective said in E2 about following Jamie’s brain around the entire case. We never get an inkling into why Katie may have left those comments on his insta until this episode when we learn that she’d had her nudes leaked and that Jamie then attempted to take advantage of her vulnerability. We also never learn how Jamie reacted to Katie’s rejection, we can only infer based on how he reacts to not getting his way in this episode.

EPISODE 3 - - - - - - - - - What do you think about Jamie being particularly guarded about his father compared to his mother and sister, and also the concern he shows for what his father’s going through compared to his mum and sister? I also think it’s interesting how when the psychologist asks him how his dad is with him and his mum, the first thing he says is ā€œHe’s never hit meā€ or ā€œHe’s never hit herā€ as if not being physically abusive is a sign of a great person rather than the bare minimum. It explains why he thinks him not SAing Katie that night makes him ā€œbetterā€ than most men.

EPISODE 4 What do you think about Jamie’s family dynamic? There was a lot of conversation about how his sister and mum seemed to deal with their grief internally while supporting the dad, while the dad grieved much more openly (and often in volatile ways). It’s also hard to tell if this is typical for them given the very unique trauma they’re dealing with.

EPISODE 4 What are your thoughts on the Dad’s anger and do you think it influenced Jamie at all? And what do you think about Jamie seemingly having not much to say to his mum and sister in the car and wanting to speak primarily to his dad despite his actions affecting them all?

EPISODE 4 Now that you’ve seen the final episode, the show was mainly structured around taking a close look at all the main influences on a child’s life. EP1 focused on the crime, EP2 on the school, EP3 on the child’s psyche and how social media shapes that, and EP4 on the family. After the murders of Ava White, Elianne Andam, and Brianna Ghey (all young girls murdered by young boys), the writers really wanted to understand what could lead a young person to commit that kind of crime. Also, speaking strictly on the show and Jamie, which of the influences shown in the series do you think affected Jamie the most?
