Holy FUCK did I geek out on this one! The psychological element of the episode has you gripped to your fucking seat the entire time, didn't even realise 50 mins had passed by the end!

P.S. that psychologist needs a holiday after this 😭 that ability to supress the TERROR that would be going through you at times... you deserve some time off for sure girlie!

Google Drive Tip: It takes time for Google Drive to process videos. If it says "still processing" or is only allowing you to view at 360p, then you can always come back later or download the video in full

Dropbox Tip: The quality of the video is lower while streaming so I recommend downloading or using google drive if thats an issue

the fact that owen cooper (jamie) had never acted before this show is genuinely mind blowing like he is so outstanding - he, stephen (jamies dad) and erin (psychologist) 100% deserved their emmys for this show

Mickey Ross

v unrelated but you should watch heated rivalry 😭

Harry Allen

ITS INSANE! When I read that at the end i was like... what do you mean FIRST role????

Hali

Reaction’s barely started but can I just say I’m blown by the fact that you’re using a fan in these freezing temperatures in the uk 😂😂😂

Harry Allen

LMAO 😂 gotta have my window shut to record as im next to a road and fuck me, my PC turns into the SUN the second I try and record 😂

One interesting thing I never noticed until just now is that when asked to describe his dad and granddad, he described them as “men” aka masculine. But he’s also very open about the fact that he’s different from his dad and granddad. Jamie clearly doesn’t see himself as masculine which explains why he overcompensates based on what he thinks a “real” man is (having done sexual acts with girls)

I came away from this ep the first time feeling kind of heartbroken for Jaime? Just from the perspective that this is a 13 year old child saying and doing these kinds of things. It’s normal for teenagers to experience self esteem issues maybe even bullying but these red pill groups prey on that and twist those normal feelings into something ugly. They isolate these kids from the world and make them think that whatever they’re feeling is permanent and that the manosphere community is the only thing that’ll get them through it. It really is just a different form of grooming.

My favourite moment in this episode is how the camera stays on the psychologist’s quietly horrified face as Jamie essentially says “I wanted to rape her but I didn’t even though most guys would, so that makes me better”, and when the camera pans back to him he’s just taking a bite out of his sandwich as if he’s just said the most normal thing in the world. Perfect shot.

Harry Allen

YES, for an episode that is isolated in a single room, the way they use the limited camera angles is insanely impressive. Could go on and on about the things this show does incredible at

Harry Allen

Absolutely, its why when they keep grounding him over what he has done by saying "shes dead" it really hits hard cause you're feeling so bad for this little kid, and then you get slapped back into reality over what he did. It's the classic thing of the action was obviously wrong, but its a failure of society as a whole that this happened. Scary that this is how things are atm and it doesn't seem to be getting any better

Harry Allen

Ahhhh didn't pick up on that, good catch! The level of detail in the dialog alone is insane, curious on how long it took them to write it in comparison

I love that the cheese and pickle sandwich is a symbolism for Jamie’s behaviour.. they go into it a little in BTS which is definitely worth watching! amazing episode
