Fun Fact, Angela Bassett is from Florida just like Athena. Sometimes if you listen closely to how she speaks when she's playing Athena or just in general, the country accent slips through. A lot of Athena's stories are Angela's. Athena badge number 1275 is referenced to a freeway that runs through Angela's hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Same thing with Athena's call number 727-L-30. 727 is St. Petersburg area code. Also, in the Athena Begins episode, young Athena was wearing a delta sigma theta (African American Sorority) sweatshirt, Angela is a member of that sorority, and they got permission from the organization to use it in the show. I think there are some more. But some of the other characters are inspired by the actors too. Bobby is from Minnesota and so is Peter. If you remember the dosed episode when we first met Taylor, she interviewed the 118 and Hen told a story about either getting shot or almost getting shot but I know that story is what happened to Aisha Hinds who plays her. These are just a few but I love when they do this because it makes it easy for the actors to connect to the story because piece of it is their own.
