The crow was like a special pet, projecting the owner powers, and that is how he manage to get in Elena’s head in her dream or influence Caroline to get her to come and set him free, but now the crow is dead, served Damon to get enough blood to function and to get to the cemetery to feast of Vicky. Caroline was compelled not to be afraid of Damon vampire side and not to remember their conversations, so that he could be free to speak to her about anything without her going around spilling their secret conversations. Damon doesn’t lie, that is why he compelled Caroline so he didn’t have to. When Damon said to Stefan “you are lying to yourself" meant that Stefan is pretending to be human around Elena and that lying is not possible to keep it up for long, he isn’t human and stuff is happening that he can’t explain, making Elena suspicious. Elena is a very smart girl and one of her trait is that she is capable to read people extremely well, so she figured it out pretty fast. The show is now on full mode, from now on you will have to have great will power not to binge on it, because episode after episode is picking up speed and the cliff hangers are getting more and more intriguing. Great reaction. 👍

Omg I'm so dumb, I did not put two and two together to figure out that that was the same crow he fed on. I'm already starting to feel the urge to binge however I am trying my hardest to resist 😂

An important foreshadowing scene is a conversation between Matt and Stefan. When Matt tells Stefan that for Elena, the truth is essential for her, Stefan doesn't consider it. The truth between Stefan and Elena is a crucial factor to what happened to them in season 4

Another essential scene is what the old gentleman told Elena about the brothers in 1953. We will see more about it in season 5, which is another reason why there is so much animosity between the brothers.

When Matt and Elena are playing pool at the grill while talking about Stefan, we get a tiny clue of who is Stefan, but it gets brushed off to the audience; seeing the characters smiling, but if this were a horror show, most people would have paid attention to what Matt said about Stefan being a serial killer keeping a clown suit in his trunk.

Elena's blouse colors resemble the colors the military uses. Camouflage is used to conceal from the enemy. Still, in the scene when Stefan is cooking and talking about Katherine, those colors represent Stefan hiding crucial information from Elena about Katherine. Notice how Stefan described Katherine and Damon described her to Elena in episode 3. Damon was not as negative as Stefan when they described Katherine's personality. The way each brother describe Katherine is a reflection of themselves.
