Good lord...Stefan "if history is any indication, there is only one lair among us"🙄...Harry "you".... I "Exactly!!!" 🙌👏👏👏 😂 You are so good, the stuff you notice is so accurate. After the vampire attacked Elena in her home, Damon suggested to get him that night, Elena immediatelly agreed with him and Stefan didn't like that one bit. He doesn't like the bond that Damon and Elena created with the road trip. And because he didn't like that Elena sided with Damon, he had to lie to Damon about wanting to help him. Quoting Stefan " no, nothing hidden about it, no lie , no deception, I'll be there when you open the tomb...."etc. And he got Elena involved into the Damon's deception, so that he would get Elena teaming up with him to the expances of Damon's trust, dragging Elena, that is anything but a liar, into his shady behavior, forcing her to plot agaist Damon. The master manipulator at work.

Hahaha I really am liking how you already started to understand who the liar is amongst the two brothers 😂 it is frustrating no doubt because it is something I would be really concerned about too if I were Elena because she ends up finding out so much from a person she just knows probably for a month or so. Although Stefan is trying to keep Elena and her close circle safe by providing them with vervain and all so again a good way to make sure she doesn't lose her trust in him. However, like you said Elena is at the stage in her life where she is wanting a lot more from life and a support system after her parents death so she isn't really thinking through the whole manipulation and lies. Damon yet again is here to protect Elena💜 he doesn't need to help them because it really isn't his issue but he is there to help. It was so amazing how you picked up on the fact that after their road trip, Elena was starting to feel safe with him. Stefan could have actually used this chance to help his brother and start to actually build their relationship but then again he cannot help himself. Back to lies. But did Damon actually believe him? Guess we will find out soon.

I have just had enough with Stefans lies now 😂 at first I was like "ok you thought you were doing the right thing" but every episode they just get more and complicated and I really am starting to get annoyed at him. I am hoping Damon can see through the lies but he wants Katherine back so bad that idk if he will or not. We shall see heh

You could definitely see Stefan was not happy that Elena went along with Damon there, to the point that he even tried to manipulate her later on by saying "I know you two are closer" trying to remind her that she 'hates' him and can prove it by helping Stefan. I've just had enough of him at this point 😂

Oh absolutely. You start to get the difference between the brothers, and one of the reasons Damon doesn't trust him.

The only problem with this show are the kids watching it and not getting the manipulation and the actors body language. In that scene when they were all sitting on Elena's sofa, discussing what to do, and Elena sided with Damon, Stefan reaction, to any adult, is very clear. He feel surprised that Elena agrees with Damon, and starting to feel insecure and that the grip he has on her is not as strong as he believed it to be. Paul Wesley is a great actor, he is so good at nuances. Kids don't get it, don't see it, totally miss it. That created and still does, the most toxic character battles, mostly aimed to santify Stefan as the good brother, and arrass everybody that challange that initial narrative "good brother bad brother" that the writers initially sold you, to start to decostruct during the following episodes, creating depth. The beauty of this show is that is everything but shallow and the characters, that are vampires, lived for long time, had a long life, things happended to them, and their personality, their motivations, their psycological personal issues, the challages they faced, cannot defined them as "good or bad" fitting them in this little box, because the characters personality, it was written to be way more complex and "realistic" then that. And that is another reason why I think this show is not for kids, you have to have developed critical thinking to undestand what is going on, to see manipulation, to get body language, to get when a character say something and means the opposite, etc. and not take things at face value. So Harry dear, be prepared to be hassled on Youtube by little annoying pests that cannot see pass the tip of the iceberg this show is. It comes with the territory, we can laugh about it together.

I do not want to say much right now because I believe it spoils things and I don't want to do that at the slightest. But with more and more episodes, it will be more interesting to understand the psychology of each character. And from Stefan's pov, he does believe that he is doing it for the right reasons but as the audience it is each to their own to understand it.

Stefan character is very complex too, I like his flaws makes him interesting to understand, otherwise it would be difficult to stand aside to a larger than life character like Damon and keep the audiences interested, if Stefan was just a goody goody and Damon was just an evil bad boy. The magic of TVD writers.

Exactly!! The writing of this show is super impressive because of how you can always connect the dots and the psychological aspects for each character to understand the characters and their personalities. The whole deconstruction of what is good and bad in a world that isn't all black and white.
