The fact that there is a lapse time between the notification and when you can actually watch your reaction, create a certain exciting suspence... 😂

This episode is so sad. Bonnie’s grandma died, basically for nothing because, they broke the seal and they weren’t strong enough to get it back up and now al the vampires can get out. So Sheila is gone and Bonnie doesn’t have her grandma mentoring her anymore. In this period the actress Kat Graham (Bonnie) lost her grandma for real, so what you see is actually her putting her grief into her acting. Damon and Elena have a deep understanding and in the necklace scene, when Damon put her necklace back on Elena’s neck there is some chemistry there, Damon get very close to her and Elena look at his lips and there some subconscious sparks there. Damon didn’t mean “I wish Elena to die” it was only to get back at Stefan that as usual uses manipulation to get things out of Damon, Stefan “all I can remember is hating you, there might have been a time where it was different, but your choices have erase everything good about you” Look at Damon reaction about that statement, like “Really?” followed by Stefan saying “I know also that you have just as much reason to hate me” again look at Damon’s face, the Damon’s “Apology accepted” is meant ironically. Damon knows his brother and he knows, he is using manipulation to butter him up, to get Damon to help him. That is why he said after “I hope Elena’s dies”. The grudge among them seems to runs deeper than the Katherine matter. Damon has this aura of dangerousness and toughness he put up mostly to protect himself, but Elena can see right through it, she can see that the only thing he really wants is to be loved. He spent 145 years waiting to get Katherine back, talking about commitment to love, to find out she doesn’t care. We saw him already broken hearted when Emily destroyed the crystal, and now is like, all his life was wasted. Stefan doesn’t seems to know is brother and doesn’t make much effort to get close to him again, and he is always mean to Damon, apart from the scene in front of the fire when Stefan finally remember that Damon is his brother and that he needs a bit of tenderness.

Awesome reaction! The ending of the episode is very sad and I feel really sorry for Bonnie because I know she was thinking that they could survive this and it won't cost them like the way it did but Grandma definitely knew that the amount of power it was going to take for them to open the seal was going to be too much. Also I feel because Bonnie was very new, Sheila had to put in the larger amount of her witch powers to not overwhelm Bonnie. So in the end she knew that she wasn't going to make it for the next morning :( Oh my heart breaks for Damon. All this time he has had only one goal which is to bring Katherine back and holding on to the hope being with his supposed love again was just a lie. But notice how he doesn't attack anyone impulsively this episode. And I feel Elena had a really important role to play in him not flying off the handle. You can see it in his eyes in the tomb, when he seriously contemplates for a second actually staying down there rather than leaving with Stefan. Elena shows up and begs him to come with them before its too late. And he complies. Not for himself though. He leaves because she kept her promise to him. She didn’t just get him in the tomb. She came back for him so he wouldn’t be stuck down there, starving for eternity. The scene at the boarding house was a great scene. It was like another step Damon and Elena took in building this relationship that is still very new and doesn't really have a name but it has very important factors like trust and understanding. For the first time in over a hundred years he chooses to put his faith in someone. And she proves that his trust in her is not at all misplaced. He tells her that he is choosing to trust her and she has already figured that they have an understanding and it is different from the other relationships they have in their lives. And yet its more than that. Unbeknownst to either of them it has become a friendship already. The hug at the church was so sweet! He stands there, lost, hurt, betrayed and alone. Looking for all the world like he has no idea where he goes from here. But Elena answers that question for him in a silent gesture of compassion. Damon is only beginning to experience feelings of being someone on the receiving end of care and understanding. She says two simple words 'I'm sorry', A simple moment of friendly affection. A hug that he doesn’t even return. It breaks down the first of many emotional barriers between them. Because he doesn’t push her away. He may not return the embrace. But he allows her to comfort him. To take on his pain as her own for just a second. He lets her be his strength in that moment. And he needed it and she somehow knew exactly how to comfort him just like she knew how to convince him about trusting her again. She didn't fear about him compelling her because she was confident he won't. I believe Elena knows how to see right through Damon is what helps her not judge him solely from what she hears about him from others even his brother. I feel she does respect Damon's loyalty and commitment to love. I really liked how we saw both brothers just sit in silence with each other. I think it was the best way for Stefan to show his brother that he was there for him. Especially after how in the day, although Stefan apologized, he didn't take more than a few seconds to ruin it. And Damon did accept his apology but the minute Stefan went back to wanting to use his help pissed him off.

And there is the story of the necklace, given to Elena by Stefan, not as token of love, but to protect her from Damon. She left it in Stefan's room and went on a road trip with Damon. So for Elena not having the necklace one was an act trust towards Damon. Now to prove she is worthy of trust to Damon, she takes the necklace off and Damon to seal the promise of trust, put it back on her neck and told her that he wants things between them to be real. This is the start of the necklace story between Damon and Elena.
