Oh wow ep 19!!!

Episode 19 is such an iconic and an important episode for so many reasons. First of all Paul Wesley is such a great actor, his performance on this episode is outstanding. Stefan has lots of self loathing issues, for many reasons, some of which will be explained in the next episode. Bonnie did the brain fry to Stefan, (the same thing Shiela did to Damon), to stop him. The face of Stefan when he regained control was so heart breaking. What Damon did by telling Elena and what Elena did to Stefan to stop him, I would call it an intervention, it is what you do with the people you love acting like addicts, to save them from themselves. Stefan is acting like a addict would, in denial about his addiction, lying to everybody, acting without thinking of the consequences, finding excuses etc. So, ultimately Elena and Damon had to do what they had to do, to make sure that Stefan wouldn't kill anybody and get killed in the process. That Damon and Elena dance is so important; they have insane chemistry (the actors Ian and Nina dated in real life). Damon still loves Katherine, but Elena is very much in the picture without him fully realising it. They bonded, they trust each other, they are both physically attracted to one another (Can you blame them? They are both so gorgeous). If I could get a pound for every time Elena looks at Damon's lips, I would be very rich. But it definitely start to be more on Damon part. There is one thing that this show does wonderfully and all the time, it is the use of music as a voice over, telling us with a song what one of the character is thinking or feeling and these are Damon’s feelings and the lyrics explain everything: I'm dying to catch my breath Oh why don't I ever learn? I've lost all my trust, Though I've surely tried to turn it around Can you still see the heart of me? The show is so good, If you can't believe that season 2 and 3 are better than season one, believe it because is true. TVD is a crescendo of beauty, complexity and wild entertainment, the characters are so interesting and have such dept.

One of my most favourite episodes of the series. In all honesty, there are times I have sworn that the entire season was nothing but build up for the dance that Damon and Elena share at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. And watching it again with a fresh perspective, I can see that I was right. Every second of the previous eighteen episodes was leading to this moment between them on the dance floor. And hey don't blame yourself for liking them together because it's a universal feeling most of the viewers. A moment with so much palpable chemistry and poignancy that the natural passion Damon and Elena share seems to radiate between them like it has a life of it's own. But I don't want to get ahead with this. I am going to talk about why this dance is such a crucial milestone. When Damon confronts Stefan about the blood bank issue, We know that Damon knows best. He could easily pick on the lies his brother was feeding him. And then we hear Damon asking Stefan about what Elena would think about this new Stefan and these two have a different take on the issue. I find it fascinating that this scenes takes place in 'Miss Mystic Falls'. It's the first in a long line of conversations between the brothers that are meant to portray the disparity that exists in them in regards to Elena. From the start we have established that Damon and Elena's relationship is founded on the truth. Damon never expected or demanded that Elena trust him immediately. In fact, he made it fairly obvious that she shouldn’t trust him at all, ever. And that makes the eventual trust she develops in him all the more meaningful. It wasn't something he ever anticipated. Especially not from her. Except that he earns it. All because of moments like these. Because Stefan, as usual, is keeping some secret about himself from Elena. And even Damon, if the look on his face during this conversation is any indication, doesn’t agree with it. Damon exists in shades of gray. He has very clouded morals. But when it comes to Elena, there seems to be a different set of rules in play for him. He conducts his friendship with her in the way that Stefan should be conducting his romantic relationship with her. It is so important to understand that Damon Salvatore, master of mind games and deception is so offended that Stefan is keeping his renewed diet of human blood a secret from Elena that elects to tell her himself. Why does it bother him that Stefan is flat out lying to Elena? Why does he feel the need to intervene? Granted it is not going to be anything great to let Stefan roam around while he is out of control and has raging blood drinking issues. But that is not the only reason it seems. It is a lot more about the faith and trust I believe he feels responsible about. And the way he decided to step up for Elena and not abandon her was beautiful. He was so chivalrous and it's amazing how Stefan was the one who was with Elena for the rehearsal but the real dance was with Damon. I love this dance! The way Elena and Damon shined through like it was always meant to be was outstanding. Katherine is very much still in the picture but the liking for Elena is solely about her because we have seen the bond being formed between them. It hasn't happened overnight but during the course of all the previous episodes. He does care for her. Damon is concerned for his brother and he is right about the need to learning how to control bloodlust. Stefan and his problems with blood will be explained a lot more in the next episode and it will be easier to understand his guilt and disgust with the actions that take place when he drinks human blood. However it is not okay to continue lying and pretending especially with Elena. He was never going to tell her unless she found out on her own. And the way he tries to guilt-trip her about not understanding was another example of how emotionally manipulative he can be. I am really eager for next 3 episodes because it is a roller coaster ride. Really enjoy your reactions and the way you can always put two and two together is awesome.

Yes, I also was going to say that remember when Elena was talking about the guy who was following after she went to meet Isobel's friend, Stefan spoke about how vampires are predators and they like the chase. He tells her to be afraid and run 😬😲

Flipping hell!! This show is u-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e everything is connected with everything, I've never ever seen anything remotelly close to this. He really was planning to kill her.
