In this show you get one season worth of content in one episode, there are no filler episodes and they hammer your brain and emotions with lots of things happening. And I can assure you, all TVD seasons are good, some are better, but still compare to other shows the level of everything and of entertainment is so high. Oh I so agree with you. I mean all the men and the ladies in this cast are exceptionally beautiful and attractive, but Ian Somerhalder is on another level, he is not just exceptionally beautiful he is off the chart sexy. He exudes sexual appeal naturally, by the way he talks, walks, looks at people with those pairs of baby blue eyes. Paraphrasing that song says "The perfect body with the perfect smile/eyes" oh that smirk!! And has you saw in that scene with Isobel he is an extraordinarily on screen kisser, he knows how to turn the heat on. I do prefer Damon too, even though Stefan has a lot of depth to him that you yet have to know. Damon is such an interesting character, for many reasons, the most obvious are that he is fun, has all the quick lines, he doesn’t take himself or anybody too seriously, he is sassy, cocky but charming, he can dance and but underneath all this facade of badass vampire, there is a person that would do anything for the people he loves and respect, he is extremely loyal and he never lies (and there is a reason why, that is a spoiler) even when is inconvenient for him, even if he has to, he find a way to tell a partial truth. He seems to be coarse with people, but he is profoundly honest, you don’t get bs from Damon, which is a great quality. He has integrity in his own way. So even though he has some big resentment for his brother that condemn him to a lonely eternal life as vampire, he does care about him more than he cares to show. He never badmouth his brother with Elena, he could have, but he didn’t, contrary to Stefan that for this reason comes off a bit petty. Stefan and Elena are cute but their relationship comes out of both of them wanting something from each other. Stefan wanted to feel human around a human girlfriend, in a way he wants to relive what he felt with Katherine before she reviled to him that she was a vampire that ruined everything for him. Elena wanted someone that could help her to feel alive again after her parents died. And a mysterious gorgeous vampire and his gorgeous brother, surely shock thing enough to make her wanting to live and have excitement and danger and trill in her life. Damon and Elena are something else, they get each other like nobody, and they have a mutual physical attraction, and even though Elena loves Stefan the attraction is there, and by now she knows that she has a hold on him that he loves her. This show is very subtle with details, you blink and miss something. When Damon gave the device to Elena he put it on her hand and hold on to her fingers, Stefan saw that and it was clear to him what that little gesture meant. That is why he didn’t act surprised when in the square town Isobel told Elena that Damon loves her. I love Bonnie as character but in this period I don’t particularly. I understand that she has all the reasons in the world to be hungry about her grandma death and to resent Stefan and Damon about it, but could have simply said NO, I don’t want to get involved in this. They would have never blamed her for that, but lying to Elena by not disenchanting a devise that could kill Stefan and Damon, was wicked. I will never approve of that.

God how much I love this episode because it just has everything! And watching it again, I can see the monumental shift that occurred by it's end. Because every second of Damon's was glorified by character development and budding humanity. Starting with the phone call scene. I think the way scene started, it was meant to seem like Elena was speaking to Stefan before the camera panned to Damon. The friendly, conversational tone of her voice, the natural ease of the dialogue made it all sound like she was conversing with her current boyfriend rather than his brother. But then again, Stefan and Elena have never shared the same simple and honest discourse. So it shouldn't be surprising that she's having such a calm and candid conversation with Damon. Or that Damon is smiling like a lovestruck idiot throughout most of it. Which is how you know that what we find out about his feelings for Elena later in the episode is completely true. Because no one makes Damon smile like that. And the scene at school when everyone is gathered to discuss the meeting between Elena and Isobel. Whose Elena’s boyfriend here again? Is it Stefan? Because I’m not so sure about that. Elena’s long lost vampire birth mother, who just a few episodes ago was compelling people to stand in front of oncoming traffic to scare her own daughter away, is in town asking to meet her. And Damon is the one who looks all anxious and concerned for how Elena might not want to see Isobel. And even tells her that she doesn’t have too. Like he’s a husband comforting his distressed wife. And he’s stepping into the pseudo-boyfriend role already with aplomb and grace. Like its perfectly natural for him to have loving concern for Elena’s emotional well being about meeting her crazy, emotionless, dangerous birth mother. I really liked the conversation we saw happening outside the grill between Alaric and Damon. Because Damon is still playing at the detached, emotionless, super vamp whose only sticking around town because he lost his love and doesn’t really have anywhere else to go. But we all know that’s complete bullshit. And he utterly undermines his claims at non-humanity in his very next scene. To this day this remains one of my favourite Damon scenes ever. This is when I knew I was a goner. There was no going back when he threatened Isobel on Elena’s behalf. This is unprompted. Isobel hasn’t taken Jeremy yet. Or even threatened anyone Elena is close to. Hell, she hasn’t even threatened Elena herself directly. This, to me, is more relevant to Damon’s development in season one than anything. He makes grand claims of not caring about anyone, yet he makes a point to call Mystic Falls his town, like it’s a place he’d defend to the death. I know that we haven't gotten any insights about how Elena feels after hearing it out loud that Damon loves her. But I believe there is a certain comfort that can come from being loved by a dangerous man. Because you don’t doubt for a second that Damon will destroy Isobel if she comes near Elena or causes her any harm. The violence in his voice and his face confirms it. He is all things dark and terrifying in this scene. And I love it. I live for it. It’s Damon at his best. Riding the line between dark and light. Using his inner darkness for a better purpose. Like protecting the girl he loves. I get chills when I watch this. Its undisputed proof of Damon’s feelings for her. And it’s brilliant how Isobel also questions why Elena isn’t with Damon? She could see that Damon loves Elena within very little time in town. A love that was so powerful from the outset that it was palpably obvious to everyone around him because he couldn’t hide it. Once he let her in to his heart that was the end of lone wolf, no humanity Damon. He can’t make himself not care anymore because he loves Elena. And anything that is important to her is important to him. The entire scene with Damon and Stefan. I liked that they spoke about it and didn’t pretend like nothing happened. Stefan, I believe was somewhere concerned about the closeness between Damon and Elena but because it was never said out loud what that closeness might be leading up to it didn’t occur to him. But now, it is out in the open. It would be termed the same as the situation with Katherine, but it isn’t. Elena is not Katherine and she is not pitting the brothers against each other like in the past happened. The interesting thing about this exchange is that Damon doesn’t make any sort of insinuation that would make you think he’s going to try and weasel his way into Elena’s heart and steal her from Stefan. Because he has no intention of doing so. His feelings for her weren’t intentional. His feelings for her give him a purpose, a reason to stay in Mystic Falls and to keep his humanity on somewhere in the middle. This is how Damon and Elena start the slow process of moving out of friendship. Elena first hearing of Damon’s feelings for her was the first step. And that look on her face when she hugged Stefan but glanced back at Damon said it all. She wasn’t sure if it was true, but it was enough to plant a seed in her mind about the changing dynamics.

I was hoping you would post the finale too, but I guess I have to wait a week, now... 😢anyway I so much love your reactions.

Isobel truly has shaken up the people in Mystic Falls. Her cold demeanor was great to watch because we could see how she was all business and nothing more. The scene with Alaric was very well shot I agree. I found it interesting because in the entire episode it seemed like she had her humanity off but then she cares about Elena and wants her to be not involved with vampires (but herself chose to be one). And she feels the need to explain to her estrange husband that she made the choice for herself and although she might regret it now, it doesn't change anything. So I feel like she does have her emotions on but it depends on who and when chooses to express them. Jeremy and Elena are in complicated space. I don't blame either one of them because Jeremy being upset and feeling betrayed is fair but at the same time Elena was doing what she thought was best to save him the pain. They just need to work on their communication skills better. Isobel and Damon is one hot scene!! I know that it's bit awkward because you think about how she is Elena's mother but it was hot. Damon and his seductive acts are something else and his beautiful face and body are too damn hot to handle. I loved that scene by all means. And oh my god when he says that 'you tell that little bitch to come and get it herself'👌😂 it was just perfect. We as the audience knew that he was there only one reason and that was to threaten Isobel for messing with the people he loves and cares about. Bonnie, I know why she chose to not help the vampires. She isn't going to do something that she believes goes against her morals and her grandma. But I do think that she knows it's wrong because she lied to her friend. And honestly this is again one of those moments where I appreciate Damon's intelligence. He knows how to read a person. He knew he couldn't trust Bonnie with this and he was right. Just like he didn't waste any time in figuring out Isobel and John's connection being much stronger than just the ones on the surface. Thank you for answering the questions. It was great. Missing out the chance to watch Vampire Diaries is really a loss because even I didn't decide to check it out until a few months and I was shocked at how god damn brilliant this show is. And you're right Damon has a lot more edge to his character so it makes it more interesting.

Same I thought we could have a treat today but then again the wait is always worth it too. Just hope we get it on Monday or Tuesday the latest😊

Harry Allen

Was really debating it but it takes a while to get it edited and I am behind on YouTube atm 😭 gonna try and get it up as soon as I can though!

Archna

That's all good Harry. I understand that it is a lot of work 😊

I know Harry mine was more a wishful thinking rather then a real wish. Don't worry, I want you to have fun with it because when you have fun we have fun too with you. I wouldn't want you to feel it as a burden.
