God you are so freaking good!! You are the only reactor that got the Katherine and Damon scene and the reason why she broke his heart so perfectly. She is playing everybody like chess. Damon love is inconvenient and the brothers in order to be manipulated need not to be a united front. What she is up to? Why she came back after 145 years? The two brothers have an opposite problem. Stefan weakness is the fact that he is a vampire and everything that comes with it, how he became a vampire what he did after, the guilt etc. Damon doesn’t have problems in being a vampire because he was older when he turned, he experience the war, he is more though skinned in that sense, he know he cannot do anything about it and he tried to adapt. Damon problems are his feelings being not loved as Stefan by his father, made him more fragile and more incline to be manipulated out of wanting someone to love him. That is why he create a wall in which he pretend to be though and not to care, when it is obvious that he cares a great deal and being a vampire where emotions are heighten and you feel everything more intensely must have crushed him deeply and when he is in that state he lash out and do something impulsively to make Elena feels the pain he does. Making everybody hate him is better than being ignored. As much as I didn’t like Stefan season one, I adore Stefan season 2, the speech in the garden he gave to Damon was gold and the way he try to justify his actions with Elena telling her that he probably saw the ring on Jeremy’s finger was the feeling of the caring brother that I was hope he would be. He went from petty in season one to wonderful, mature and caring. Love his development. Stefan was able to differentiate Katherine from Elena first because Elena had different clothing, second because Stefan being intimate with Elena know her smell, can hear her heart bit. Nina Dobrev is a genius, she plays two different people so well, and you can tell Katherine from Elena, so much so, that you forget that they are played by the same person. Caroline is going to be a vampire, and we know that someone personality play a great role in the kind of vampire that person is going to be. So with Caroline personality what kind of vampire is she going to be? We will talk about Bonnie and Tyler next episode. Little note. The snapping of Jeremy’s neck was a plot devises employ by the writers because they wanted to keep Damon to be a villain, but Damon took a life on its own, and people just adore him, because of his quick line and his charm? Because of Ian play him so well? Because he is so entertaining and interesting and has such depth that people empathise with him? Whatever it is, Damon is Damon and no other character compare.

I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS! There is nothing that you miss out on in your deep analysis of characters and scenes and their storyline. This cliffhanger is one of my favourite because it's the absolute work of the devil. After all the trust and understanding that Damon and Elena had built over the course of the first season, after all of Damon’s positive growth and reacquaintance with his humanity, he backtracks and blows his whole friendship with Elena to hell in the snap of a neck. He killed her little brother. In front of her. Because she told him she’d never love him. Because the idea that she could never love him hurt so much that he needed to inflict pain on someone else. I cried again today while watching the confrontation scene between Katherine and Damon. His face was reflecting how broken he was after hearing that he was never loved and to make it worse, his younger brother was the preference...god that must sting! It’s tragic in a manner that is almost too painful to describe. This is Damon at his lowest. This is his rock bottom. Although I’d like to think it is his defining moment. His chance to leave his old love, and her treacherous hold over his life behind. Katherine twisted the knife in Damon intentionally. She didn’t just tell him that she’s always preferred his little brother. She compounded the cruelty by negating the entire purpose of his existence, by confirming the very real deception he had been living under for the last century and a half. Damon fought so hard to open the tomb because he believed his feelings were reciprocated. And now Katherine has finally told him, once and for all, that everything he ever thought he knew was utter manipulation. That his life was built on fabrication. And that realization drove him to Elena’s room, to the only person he had successfully broken down emotional walls with in the last few months. He went to her for any kind of reassurance after being told he wasn’t worth a damn to the woman he’d devoted his life too. Elena’s declaration of her preference and love for Stefan was important because she doesn't want to lie to Damon. Her lead in is of the real significance here. Because she didn’t claim not to care for Damon. In fact, she quite implicitly let him know that she does care, irrespective of his mistakes until this point. Not that it mattered to Damon in the moment. Her insistent pleas that she does care for him fell on deaf ears in his state of anguish. All he heard was that someone else was choosing his brother. Again. So he snapped. And opened the door to fury, disappointment and hatred from the one person who had championed his cause and rallied for his humanity. I feel Damon's pain and I understood why he snapped. But at the same time from Elena's pov, she isn't going to be wrong to hate Damon from this point simply because he attempted to kill his brother in front of her (the worst thing he could to do her). Elena didn't know what drove Damon to her in the middle of the night so when he tries to push her into confessing the underlying feelings between these two, she doesn't give-in. And it's similar to how she said that she was surprised he thought that she would kiss him. Now, Damon was hurt by that too because he felt rejected. But then again Elena is a very loyal person and she truly believes that she will never consciously cheat Stefan. It's very complicated mess of emotions. I very much appreciated Stefan's mature outlook on how to deal with Katherine as a unit. He has the right to be upset about his brother claiming to wanting to kiss his girlfriend. But then the fact that he chose to shift his focus and look it from positive perspective was amazing. Kudos to Elena too for reminding Stefan that Damon isn't going to be stable with Katherine around. I love how you're so convinced that Katherine is just playing her games with the Salvatore brothers. It is very difficult to simply believe that after all this time she chose to return to Mystic Falls because she is jealous and wants Stefan back. And I am happy that Stefan isn't buying any of her reasonings. As for Stefan recognizing Katherine is probably because he knew that Elena was meant to be at the hospital, change of clothing style and because Elena had told him over the phone about her things going missing. Then the whole incident with John couldn't be an accident. So I am sure he put all these pieces together by the time Katherine came back to the gilbert house.

And we can't wait for you to see it. The more you'll get into the season the more difficult will be for you to wait for the next episode. But if there is any consolation, you are watching it like when it aired one episode a week, and don't even have to wait months to see the next season, like it happen back then.
