And now we know. Mason and Katherine are in cahoots, she is playing everybody like chess and she was the original person that gave George Lockwood the moonstone and she is the one that wants it back after all this time and she wanted Mason to trigger the werewolf curse. Why? A werewolf is dangerous to a vampire. She told Stefan a lie, when he asked her if she knew of any werewolf and she answered “I know not to pet one” and she is with Mason. So much to understand. Damon could be impulsive but his instincts are impeccable, when Damon doesn’t trust someone is for a good reason. Vampires are living in a dangerous world for them, yes they can live for long time but they can as well be easily killed if they aren’t careful. having their emotion and senses heighten means that they can hear your heart biting faster because is telling a lie or is hiding something. So Damon checking Mason at Jenna’s barbeque made him realize that he very suspiciously knows more than anybody in the council about vampire, not even being part of the council and just arrive in town after years of not being in touch, now we know because he got all the information from Katherine. But from Damon point of view it was obvious that Mason was a clear threat. And he was right. Having lived for so long in a very dangerous world, it is bound to make you extra cautious, to anybody that haven’t prove themselves to be worthy of trust. Damon in particular has the clear signs of someone that is mistrusting as self protection from getting hurt and that makes him extra perceptive. But with the people he learns to care and love, he is super loyal, as we seen in Liz case. And as we also seen in Elena and Stefan case. Elena changed her opinion because Damon intervene to patch up things between her and Stefan and to make her seen that Stefan drinking human blood is the best course of action at this point, not so much to protect himself or Elena from Katherine but not to get that much easily killed. Caroline taking down Mason in the forest is one of my favourite scene, she is becoming such a badass, I too started to adore her in this episode. Little by little the younger generation is getting closer to each other, Caroline is back into the trusting circle, Tyler and Jeremy are becoming friends and important information are getting shared. The next episode will be another stepping stone before the world of Mystic Falls will start to seriously shake.

I forgot. When Tyler said to Mason that when the girl fell down the stairs he wished for a second that she died, is revealing something important. All the rage he had was his werewolf instinct pushing him to get violent and kill to trigger the course. That is why for a second his werewolf side took over and wanted the girl to die.

Caroline is amazing. That is all.

Caroline was the star yet again in this episode! I personally love that she has really matured and become this strong confident person after being a vampire..in short it's the best thing that happened to her in quite a few ways. I was really happy to see that Liz was confident about Damon being her friend and that she trusted him when Mason told her the truth. Because it showed that Damon does win people's trust and it required evidence for her to believe Mason. And Damon did prove to her that he does think of her as a friend and cares for her. He could have easily wanted to kill her because she was going to kill him and his brother but he understood and didn't harm her. And I was proud of him for standing up for Caroline! Stefan wanting to drink a small amount of human blood each day to build a tolerance isn't a bad idea at all. He is thinking of it in the right direction but I personally just thought that Elena should have encouraged him to drink from blood bags and not her. I am sorry but I don't find it romantic and it comes across like she is going to be the human blood bag for him. Coming to Damon and Elena's scene at the end. We are still in the midst of Elena’s ‘Damon hate’ period. She’s still maintaining her distance from him, still insisting that their friendship is over. Except that it isn't. She does still care for him. It speaks volumes that she felt the need to clarify to Damon that she appreciated his act with Liz. To make him understand that there are parts of him that she likes, trusts and even misses, parts of him that make up a person she considered a loved one. And deep down, still does And even with the distance between them, Damon still holds some sway over her capacity for indecision in a crisis. She instantly rejected the notion that Stefan should ingest a small amount of human blood to try and build up a tolerance that would make him stronger but still keep the monster within at bay. Stefan's argument was actually incredibly sound but she didn't want to hear it. But with Damon, it was just a few short sentences. No argument, no attempt to convince her or use some rationale she would understand. Damon simply told her it had to be done whether she liked it or not. And she listened. She’s supposed to be going against anything to do with Damon on principle. They aren’t friends (supposedly), she still hates him (supposedly), and she still doesn’t trust him (supposedly). But she still listened. He didn’t provoke her, fight with her, condescend or bulldoze or use any of the tricks he utilizes in attempts to win an argument. He just stated it all like fact in a calm voice and then left her at the door rather than pushing her. And that is just as important as anything that could have happened between them to convince us that it wasn't over. Honestly from this episode, It was just another confirmation that Damon might come across impulsive but he always is right when he goes with his instincts. He attacked Mason and didn't regret it because he actually somewhere always knows that people cannot be trusted. Mason didn't hit back at the Salvatores simply because Damon attacked him but he was going against them anyhow if he is working with Katherine.

Liz and the other members of the council never consider the Salvatore brothers as suspects, for many reasons. 1) Their "uncle" Zac was the vervain council provider; 2) The Salvatore was a founding family; 3) they rely heavily on the information pass to them from the journals, and in the other family journals daylight rings are not mentioned also in the town record Damon and Stefan are register as killed in the Willow Creek battle as Giuseppe Salvatore wanted and Jonathan Gilbert recorded; 4) Damon acted as vampire hunter and deflect the attention to them on Lexi, saved Caroline from Logan, and involuntarily got praised for killing Logan. 5) He and Stefan are alive after the vampire device went on and effect even the major. So all of this and the fact that Damon established a close relationship with Liz and Carol are the reason why the council members never though of them as vampires.

Harry Allen

I 100% agree that's its plausible to be fooled with all of this helping their case and I'll admit I forgot about a few of them heh. Still tho, I just find it so confusing how they never even suspected them given all the coincidences going on. Idk maybe I'm not giving them enough credit 😂

Harry Allen

Oh god I never even though about how the scene was done with Stefan drinking Elena's blood. They literally did make it seem like a romantic gesture, EYWWWW, that just makes me cringe. I thought of it from a logical point of view it didn't even occur to me that thats what they were going for...

Harry Allen

Yeah the whole thing with Mason has been warped for me since we found out he was working with Katherine, that man needs to go lol

Harry Allen

If I had to pick one thing to take away from this whole series, this would be it

There is more but it's a spoier.....so you'll have to wait....😁

But the point of Elena offering her blood is because he loves her and he is more likely to be extra carefull not to hurt her going over the top, and learning to restrain himself.
