The witches don't like Damon because of what he did to Bonnie and because he insulted them right before entering in the old house. They accept Stefan because they want Klaus dead and Stefan is on the same page with them. Stefan right now is at the stage Damon was when he arrived into town for the first few episodes of te first season, he had his humanity on a dimmer switch ( we still haven't learnt why), just barely on to make him focus on getting Katherine back. Stefan is focussing on revenge, he doesn’t care about Elena, Jeremy but his brother is something else, Damon is his family, is his guilt, is his father figure, is the only true anchor of his humanity, is his deepest fear, living an eternal life without Damon, scared that he is going to die and he is going to be his fault and he didn’t do anything to prevent it and having to live adding to the amount of guilt he feels about his brother already. I love the banters the brothers have; underneath all the display of testosterone there is lots of love. Damon telling Stefan to stop save him is one. He doesn’t want to have the burden of his safety on is little brother shoulder. With Elena, Damon wants to be fair and square, he loves her so much but he wants her to have all the information, he doesn't want her to think bad about his brother and he would never take advantage of the situation without her knowing everything. IT was a much overdue kiss she gave him lots of signals, The scene when Damon embraced Elena to show her where is a way to a vampire hurt is, was a nearly kiss, she was going for it, he stopped her by talking of his brother. And this time the kiss was real, and Elena kissed him back and it felt very natural. She kisses him back in the same spot he tough he kisses her for the first time. I know the show does those things all the time and these little details are so precious. Elena is very loyal and cares about others opinion, she knows they wouldn’t be so accepting of her admitting having feeling for Damon and even though at this point she does loves Damon too, she hasn't unloved Stefan, they hadn’t have a proper official closure, she feels a sort of unfairness on the situation, because they never really split up voluntarily, for reasons that are related to not wanting to be with each other anymore. The situation with Stefan is in the air, there isn't a proper closure. And even if they are not together, and he pushed her away in any possible way, an act with her like a total douche, she feels she can't turn her back to him when he is down, with his humanity on a dimmer switch when he is not completely himself. Tyler was over the moon, no pun intended, for being freed by the werewolf curse, from having to turn into a “monster” that could tear apart all of his family and friends and feel that level of pain. So to his eyes, that is an all positive situation, that being sired is a small price to pay to have his normal life back, and because he didn’t realise firsthand what being sired really means, because Klaus never really asked him to do anything dangerous before, he didn’t think he would be a big deal. Taking into the account that he is a newbie vampire and everything is heighten, he is acting extra cheery. He clearly unevaluated Klaus devious use of specific people to get what he wants. Now he is realising it that is why he warned Jeremy that he is still in danger. Tyler might do what Klaus wants him to do because of his sire bond, but he cares about his friends, his feelings of concern and affection for them are still there, sire bond or not. I feel sorry for him, he is in an impossible situation, at the mercy of Klaus’ will and isolate by his friends. Another thing to worry about is Alaric ring, what happen there, has the ring an expiration time? Last but not list Jeremy compulsion. Elena is now eighteen; she is legally Jeremy’s guardian. Seeing him to get almost killed, express the desire to pack up and leave and seeing him to chop someone’s head off like nothing, triggered the decision, supported by Alaric, to let him leave a sixteen years old normal life, away from danger and from getting used to horrible things he shouldn’t get used to at his age, she acted like a concern adult with a minor that because of his sister would never leave her at the cost of his life, even if he actually ate the situation. So, she had to step in, I can’t blame her. Here it’s a matter of life and death and of protecting a minor mental sanity.

This one is very special for me because of the famous Delena kiss❤️😍but before I get into that I'm just going to briefly share my thoughts on the other important scenes. Tyler's the first hybird, so everything's new to him, just as it is to everyone else. We can see he's pretty happy about not having to turn every month when the full moon hits, but he hasn't experienced sire bond yet. That was his first time testing it out. Elena and Alaric did a great job of asking him specific questions that put him and his loved ones in danger and made him think about his actions. So far, I'm thinking Tyler is just stuck. It's not like he wants to endanger his loved ones, but he also can't back off from obeying Klaus's orders. At this point I feel bad for him because it’s not his fault but he is going to pay the price. He shouldn’t be isolated by his friends but it’s the situation and I personally cannot get upset with him when I can see that he still cares and his feelings aren’t impacted due the sire bond. Jeremy, oh my god seeing him chop off someone's head was shocking, but I can't say I didn't see it coming. After losing so many people in his life, he won't back down from doing whatever he can to make sure he doesn't lose any more loved ones. He doesn't know who he can trust anymore, so he's going to have to take things into his own hands. Sadly, it's not fair, but it is what it is. When he says to Alaric that he would have to get used to the ways things are in Mystic falls, again implies he knows that is not the way of living but what other choice does he have other than to accept it or leave town. Alaric and his ring situation is confusing in this episode. It did bring him back to the living but didn't heal him and wonder why is that? Why was doctor Meredith not too suspicious? Too many questions. But I'm very happy and relieved that he is okay. He truly is being the best guardian to the young gilberts. Stefan and Damon quarrelling is so much fun to watch 😂Being the elder brother, Damon definitely knows ways to get Stefan to spill the beans. Knowing that his baby bro didn't betray them but instead was only interested in saving his elder brother's life was certainly surprising for him but I am sure it wasn't shocking because even Damon would do the same for Stefan without any hesitation. The only difference is that Damon many times ends up believing he isn't worth being saved (he is an idiot). I love them teaming up and don't mind the whole 'keep Elena out of this' deal. Kudos to the witches helping out which again makes sense because they all are on the same page but these witches need to stop messing with Damon's daylight ring. The way Stefan turned down Elena's request was harsh, but he is operating on a dimmer switch. It's not that he doesn't care, but maybe he doesn't care enough for Elena and Jeremy right now. I understand Elena's frustration because she knows Stefan has been through a lot lately and it’s taken an obvious toll on him. But she wasn't prepared for him to reject her when she asked for his help. The fact that she's getting to face Stefan, who is only after revenge, has got to sting her since she only knew the side of him that would agree with everything she had to say, whether he found it reasonable or not. Both of them are in very different situations, so I don't blame them for acting the way they do. Moving on to Klaus, he has a lot of double standards. He can't stand being betrayed, but has no problem doing the same to his own family. However, he also has his moments of vulnerability. His face tells exactly how scared he was when Elena tells him that she revealed his dark secret (killing the mother). Because of this, I can only understand how scared he can be to disappoint people sometimes. But seriously I have to again speak about how freaking brave Elena Gilbert is to bargain Jeremy's life by returning Rebekah to Klaus and not stepping back from stepping on his toes to pinch him where it hurts. I don't know if you noticed, but Klaus included Damon in Elena's list of loved ones, and the expression on her face showed that she was angry at Klaus in light of the threat to Damon. There's no doubt everyone around them has been noticing the growing closeness between the two, and Klaus is using their closeness against them too. But what he doesn't understand is that Damon-Elena as a team scream POWER! Last but not least, I think that Jeremy being forced to leave Mystic Falls and just live a normal life was neither wrong nor right. Being the elder sister and being responsible for her younger brother, Elena wanted Jeremy to live in a safer place, and today, what she saw was the deciding factor in many ways. Jeremy himself has expressed interest in leaving town and just getting the heck away for everyone's sake. Alaric also supported Damon's compulsion of Jeremy, which shows that they only wanted to protect him. Damon knows no matter how hard he tries to always be there for the Gilberts, there are always loopholes. Klaus isn't just some normal vampire you can kill and get rid of. It's going to be a long wait in this battle, so I guess it's understandable. I think from Jeremy's point of view, it might not be right because maybe he didn't want to leave alone without his sister, but I think at the end of the day, he will understand and has the right to feel upset. But surely he won't mind being out of town for sometime at least if not more.

The first kiss between Damon and Elena was a well deserved, perfectly executed work of art. Like all of their most relevant relationship milestones, it happened amidst a sea of pure insanity. On the heels of Stefan’s apparent betrayal, of Klaus threatening them from every side and of a joint decision to send Jeremy to Denver for his own safety. It just happened because it was time. They'd been through so much already without succumbing to what's been brewing between them for so long. Since Stefan left with Klaus, it's been the two of them against the world. They’ve had to navigate every kind of crazy under the sun, even from Stefan himself. They’ve had too many close calls, too many moments where everything could’ve gone more wrong than it originally did. They’ve had endless pressure on them from everyone around them, coupled with the silent pressure of their ever-present tension. They needed a release. A way to remind themselves what’s most important here. They’ve been pretending this whole time that what’s more important is getting Stefan back. But their priorities have shifted dramatically, whether they’ve admitted it or not. Stefan is not the centre of this anymore. They are. Unbeknownst to either of them, Damon and Elena have become the mutual centre of their respective universes. Their relationship has actually become the most significant one of all. If they are off balance, everything is. Or at the very least, everything becomes a dozen times more difficult than it already was. But they’ve been functioning like a relatively well oiled machine for months now. They’ve developed a glorious partnership in the wake of Stefan’s absence. And that partnership has given new life to the love they both feel, but deny outwardly at every turn. Until this moment anyway. When Damon finally revisits what they’ve been ignoring since he almost died from that wolf bite. When he stops acting like everything hasn’t changed between the two of them. When he realises that he just has to kiss her once. That he already carries the burden of guilt for loving her when she isn’t his to love. So why not kiss her? What’s stopping him? Nothing. Not even her. After all, she didn’t even try to fight it. When he took her face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers, she didn’t make a single move to stop it. She gave in. She didn’t just let him kiss her. She kissed him back. Because she wanted this too. Because she also feels guilty for having feelings for him when she’s supposed to be patiently waiting for Stefan to get his act together. As per own expectations she wasn’t supposed to move on but she is moving on. So if she’s already carrying guilt about that, why not kiss Damon back? What’s stopping her? Nothing. They were both torturing themselves already with the feelings they feel for each other. The feelings that have only grown since Stefan left. The feelings neither of them can shake, even for his sake. So for this one beautiful moment, they didn’t try to shake it or hide it or run from it. They let themselves feel every wild emotion they incite in each other. It’s something to celebrate! In this episode, there were flirty moments between Damon and Elena, and Elena talked about her favourite look of his. Thanking him for being there for her. He would hold her face all the time to reassure her. He would remind her that it's okay to want to protect her brother even if it means keeping him far away from her. Damon doesn't judge Elena because he relates to her as the older sibling. Like he said, being estranged is better than knowing your only family is gone. Such beautiful moments and build-up to the kiss. Moreover, Damon stands back when he sees Elena standing close to him, thanking him for being there. It didn't feel right for him to lie to her or hide anything from her. It was important to him to tell her the truth and to defend his brother. To tell her there's hope for Stefan because he didn't screw them over, rather he was protecting Damon. This detail was right before the kiss and it says a lot about how their relationship is based on the truth with no hidden secrets. Elena could've decided not to kiss Damon after knowing Stefan isn't lost, but she didn't. I admire Damon for this kind of stuff; he's never trying to build relationships on lies. I know Stefan and Elena had a lot of half truths and lies under the surface of their first kiss but Damon and Elena don't, which makes it extra sweet for me. And oh my god the choice of music! This moment, this kiss, as the song goes is everything they wanted, it’s everything they don’t want because of the guilt. It’s one door swinging open and one door swinging closed. Just genius work! These two were struggling a lot with their feelings. Damon knew he was in love with this girl, and he was able to keep his guilt at bay for some time because his little baby bro was being an ass. But then after knowing the truth he is back to feeling guilty. But he decides to give himself something worth feeling guilty about with this kiss. And likewise Elena, you can see she so wants to give in, that she likes it but also is conflicted because of her loyalty to Stefan.

Their chemistry is off the chart, the attraction between Damon/Ian and Elena/Nina is palpable and real.

Harry, I agree with you about how Elena channels her frustration toward Tyler. Elena and Alaric were asking the right questions to Tyler regarding the sire bond, but the tone they used to speak to Tyler was wrong. They almost lead Tyler to respond in an angry manner that he did. I also agree with Archna about Tyler being grateful for not turning into a werewolf every full moon due to the dramatic and excruciating pain he experienced. Not going through that painful process was essential to Tyler. The sire bond is created out of feelings that is valued by the supernatural creature with all their might. Still, Tyler has not experienced or pondered the consequences of the sire bond.

OMG, what a kiss between Damon and Elena ‼️‼️And like the necklace represents trust between Damon and Elena, the porch represents how Damon has become a pillar of strength for Elena. This kissing scene has come full circle since season 1, episode 7, where we saw Damon helping Elena to compel Jeremy after the traumatic experience of Vicki’s death. It's inferred that Damon did more than Elena asked him to compel Jeremy about. She only requested Damon tell Jeremy to move on with his life without Vicki, but in the next episode, we saw Jeremy studying and not doing drugs. Damon didn't have to do that, but he went beyond what Elena asked him to do. What is beautiful is that when Damon came out of Jeremy's room to the porch and told Elena that he compelled Jeremy. When Damon said: “It's done,” there was a pillar next to Damon. It foreshadowed what Damon would become to Elena, a pillar of Strength and reliance. In episode 7 of season 1, we see several things left unsaid between Stefan and Elena and why she was with him, but with Damon in this episode, we see them laying a foundation of truth. I love what Archna said about Delena's first kiss not being obscured with lies and how Damon doesn't badmouth his brother to Elena. We are here in season 3, episode 10, when we see Damon and Elena compelling Jeremy again to protect him. And like S1, E7, now we see Elena doing what she can to protect her family, which is something Damon understands. He admires Elena's protection tendencies toward her family because he is a protector to the core.

The song by Ross Copperman. “Holding on and letting go.” was the perfect song for Damon and Elena's first kiss. It describes what they are feeling at the moment, so poetically beautiful. The song is about moving forward and life situations that come unexpectedly, which change the previous beliefs we have in our lives. Letting go is never easy. Change is never easy, so we hold on, but when our narrative doesn't fit our previous perception, we have to move on and let go. Neither Damon nor Elena asked what was happening between them, feelings they couldn't deny. They both envision different paths in their lives. Elena thought she would have a normal human life, and Damon thought he was going to be with Katherine, who he believed loved him. The events that led Damon and Elena on that porch to their first kiss has not been easy, but neither could deny that change has taken place in their lives. Damon has never met a girl like Elena who rattles his cage by seeing someone who genuinely cares for him. Elena has never met someone who fiercely supports her without judgment. The kiss happened because their attraction toward each other could no longer be ignored or denied. It is simply beautiful.
