And once again Damon saved the day with a brilliant idea. Once again Damon proved to be selfless. He save Bonnie from being killed and find a way not to kill her mother, by tuning her into a vampire and to top that he spared his brother from being hated for it, by taking the blame on himself, because in his head he is the one that has the bad reputation, so nothing is going to change in people judgment of him, of what it is expected from him, being the bad guy and nothing ever going to change for him, since even Elena thinks that his felling of love are inconvenient and didn’t apologise to him the next day, but told him to get over it. So now he is convinced she doesn’t want him, she doesn’t love him. So what’s the point if bad Damon is what people expect from him? There is no point for Stefan to get into the role that is expected from him. No matter what he does, no matter how much he cares, no matter how much he let himself give in to love, he feels cornered; he can’t get rid of the bad reputation that was unjustly attributed to him starting with his family, his father and Stefan too, that earlier, manipulated him into making him say that he should leave Elena alone. Klaus is saying it, Stefan is saying it, Elena is reinforcing it, so Damon believes it, believes he isn’t deserving of love. Klaus and Rebekah have an interesting relationship, borderline incestuous, they have feelings of love and hate and Klaus is very possessive of her, but they stick together more than any of the other brothers. Elijah is another great character very moral and loyal to his family, but unlike most vampires he is self-aware that he is a cold ruthless killing machine, if he sees that is required. Caroline and Bonnie always pay for the consequences of living in a dangerous world, but Elena too. She lost most of her family due to the fact that she is a doppelgänger that is something she didn’t choose to be. Danger will follow her no matter what and her friends that chose to be around her, will inevitably feel the impacted of it, the love for each other cost them all lots of pain. But instead of seen this through alone they created a network of love to fell back into. I agree Elena is very smart, as well as Damon, Klaus and Elijah.

The claim that Damon and Rebekah slept with each other in order to hurt Elena is a total NO. At the moment, it had nothing to do with Elena, because both Damon and Rebekah were hurt and upset over things related to people they were interested in, and what happened between them was about them alone. Damon didn't know Elena was going to turn up at the Salvatore House when he walked out Rebekah and he didn't rub it in her face, so I don't think it was to hurt Elena or make her jealous. The reason she took it that way was that clearly she realized what she said to Damon that night in an impulse had resulted in pushing him further away. Again, I couldn't understand why she wanted Damon to think about her feelings when he decided to spend the night with Rebekah because she tried to kill her. Darling, you were the one who said his emotions were creating a problem for you, so I don't think he should care about how you feel about who he is sleeping with because it's not your business. Also he is trying to stop caring so much about what Elena thinks of him because as he was told he cares too much! Last episode she didn’t care about his emotions so he has learnt to maybe follow the same idea. I’m sorry but Elena pissed me off in this episode. She expected way too much from Damon despite the fact that she was the one who hurt him last episode and still hasn't said sorry for it. So my dear let Damon be and be with whoever and however he wants to be. Stefan is going through his guilt phase and him not drinking human blood after the Wickery bridge night incident is a good sign because he is letting emotions like guilt affect him now. Damon is someone who is observant and he knows his baby brother well enough to understand him without him even confessing things straight up. The fact that Damon decided to be the bad guy once again to save Stefan from drowning in more guilt is his big brother protective instinct. And I love that he doesn’t make big deals out of these things when he is being selfless and loving and caring. Those people who brag about being selfless are off putting. Every character on the show is dedicated to protecting their families. Out of the Originals, Elijah is my favorite, because he is self-aware. Even though he has a moral side, if he has to enforce his orders, he can be brutal to the core. Although I do not judge him for it harshly, I know it is a matter of survival and family. In this episode, I feel bad for the Originals, since I can only imagine how traumatized they must be emotionally after realizing that their mother wants to kill them. After running from their father for centuries, now it is their mother wanting to end them and why? Simply for existing (putting aside the vampire aspect). Whenever Bonnie gets caught up in situations like this where her best friend is in danger and on the other hand, it's about her, I feel so bad for her. In this case, I give it to Damon and his diabolic plans since he is someone who will try to save people in alternate ways if he is able to, but if he has no other options, the only person he will save is Elena. Thankfully, it wasn't necessary to end Abby's life by just killing her. She could become a vampire instead. I know if it had been a choice, neither of those options would have been an option, but sadly only one was available. It is natural for Bonnie to feel hurt because no one wants this but it is the way things turned out for everyone. Caroline also made a great point when she spoke to Elena about how it can be difficult for Bonnie right now to think of things from a different perspective when she is dealing with an intense situation. There is no problem with saving Elena, because if anything happened to Elena, they would all be regretful, but adjusting to this new time is what they need. In any case everyone suffers one way or another. Having Damon be the bad guy for the rest of the world is not something to be taken lightly. Despite what he does for everyone around him, he knows that it will never be credited, valued, or appreciated. He is judged as if what he does is the easiest thing in the world. At the end of the day, Damon doesn't swallow and brag about his side of the guilt, because he knows that someone has to make these tough decisions and take action before it's too late. It's ridiculous how people in this show think Damon doing all of these things doesn't have any value. It doesn't give him any pleasure or satisfaction, but it's because he is the protector. His priorities are clear. He uses his darkness to protect and I think it’s not a bad thing.

Without Damon everybody would be pretty much dead. But nobody gives him credit or thank him he gets only bad unfair judgement. Stefan to the hands of Logan, Bonnie would have never being born, if he didn't save all her ancestors, Caroline would be dead by Klaus and so would be Tyler, Bonnie's mom this episode, from being killed, Alaric saved by his blood multiple times, Elena and plenty more in the future. He doesn't brag about it but quite the opposite, but nobody ever thanked him for it. He makes tough decision that nobody have the guts to take, decision everybody benefit from but nobody gives him credit, people take him for granted. But how their life would be like without him?

Rebekah has all that anger toward Elena because she stabbed Rebekah in the back, but I also believe she is taking all that rage toward Elena due to Klaus. It is easier to take all her wrath on Elena than on Klaus because Rebekah constantly losses against her brother.
