I get that there’s a lot going on with the other characters, but given that he’s my favorite, I am very frustrated with the lack of Omar in the last three episodes. Despite Samuel telling Omar that he’s still his best friend (Personally I think it’s been Guzman for some time now), Him being somewhat involved since finding the body, how being out of the loop on that made him feel, not to mention his own personal beef with Benjamin, I’m annoyed that he’s not involved in any capacity with Samuel’s plans to take Benjamin down. They showed us that Patrick and Omar have some type of friends with benefits dynamic in episode 1, yet never utilize that relationship again. Patrick’s response to any negative feelings is to try to screw them away(A trait Omar has shown as well tbh). And Omar would absolutely relate to Patrick’s frustration with loving someone who’s being an asshole. I feel like it could’ve been very easy to involve Omar in Patrick’s story arc this season. I would talk about Omar’s arc with Bilal, but given that this comment is already way too long, and that nothing has come from that arc anyway……🤷🏾‍♂️

Regarding Patrick and Ivan, it is obvious that they are the couple that we are supposed to be rooting for. Ari and Cruz are just obstacles that they have to overcome, which like you said is just bizarre family dynamics. Elite definitely like to give us these bizarre family relationships. Let's not forget the love triangle between Marina, Samuel and Nano, the incest of Lu and Valerio, Carla's dad pimping her out to that one guy, Omar hooking up with Nadia's boyfriend while Ander was undergoing chemo, etc. I could go on, but we'd be here all day. I know they write these sick and twisted family story lines to cause drama, but they don't always have to resort the absolute bottom of the barrel. I really wish they handled the situation with Patrick, Ivan and Cruz differently. Why did they both have to have their bi awakening through Patrick?! I think it would've been more interesting if they'd gone in the direction of Cruz falling for one of his teammates(or anyone else who was an actual adult), Ivan falling for Patrick, and then both of them could have bonded over their shared experiences. Now all they have is this cluster fuck of a situation that I don't know if Ivan and Patrick will ever fully overcome.

I agree on all of the above, but it's possible that the actor had other work commitments and the writers were forced to keep his involvement minimal this season.

Seriously! There are so many ways they could’ve gone about this without making it gross. Hell off the top of my head, they could’ve made Cruz one of those “I don’t hate gay people, i just wouldn’t want my son to be” type of parent. Dinner with Ivan basically goes the same. Actively pushes him to go for Ari in pretty much the same way. Patrick in his feelings hooks up with lets say..Omar, since they’re friends with benefits (Episode 1), Ivan sees, hurts him really bad. Cruz realizes how much his behavior and actions (both past and present) have hurt his son. He apologizes, they reconcile, bing bang boom. But I wouldn’t worry too much about Patrick and Ivan’s dynamics in the coming season. If they treat Cruz like they do most parents on the show, he’ll probably just vanish off the face of the earth and they’ll never speak of him again 🤷🏾‍♂️

Ah yes that’s true. But if that’s the case, I wish he just left with Ander or something cuz this is just exhausting 😩
