Oooh boy what an episode! Okay, some thoughts. Mel Medarda. I think she is a prime example of “Congratulations, you played yourself.” She was definitely manipulating Jayce by playing an Advisor/Lover role, But I think it’s safe to say her feelings have become genuine (Seriously, if someone told me that Nothing feels impossible when they’re with me, I would be on cloud nine☺️) so now Jayce has some control over her. Just not TRYING to manipulate her.

As for the rest of the council. I do agree that they are overall scum. But I personally think they were actually heeding Heimerdinger’s words before Jayce’s outburst. I would even argue that their hesitation was genuine when voting Heimerdinger out. I’d even go so far as to say that at least some would vote against it if the circumstances were not as they were. But because of Jayce’s overwhelming influence from the success of Hextech, Merdada’s earlier manipulations making Jayce do underhanded deals with council members as a “necessary evil,” and again, being overall scum, I don’t think they really felt like they had much of choice on the matter. In fact, I bet they all stayed silent because of the shame in what they were doing. As for Merdarda, she was caught off guard by Jayce. Which is a BIG DEAL in my opinion. Since being in control of situations is kinda her whole shtick. So with that and what I see as growing feelings for Jayce, his look to her for support caused her to make somewhat of an emotional decision compared to the rest of the council.

Now Jayce….oh Jayce….the dude makes my head hurt. Obviously his actions have been hasty and irrational, but I can say with confidence that if I were in his position, i would respond the exact same way if someone threatened to destroy the one thing that could possibly save my best friends life. So I’m over here mad at him for making decisions I know I’d make. 😅
