Ruth, this is so after the fact but I love that you picked up on the horror movie. And, of course, "action" was what Simon's friends told him to go for. Notice also that as Simon is looking around Markus' place he says "cozy" which is what Wille said in Simon's bedroom. As you suggested trying to recreate the feeling of his and Wille's romantic experience. The parallels throughout this series amaze.

Hi, Dennis. Nice to see that I am not the only YR obsessive who is revisiting the series. 😏 I love the many ways in which everything is connected and the many subtle layers, visual as well as verbal. No wonder certain other shows have left us feeling rather empty!

I test downloaded S2E2 and it did work for me so I'm not sure what the issue is 😭 have u tried downloading using a different browser? Sounds silly but it has worked for me before!

kristina is constantly manipulating wilhelm, and she did in this ep as well. the whole ''we will talk ab this when you turn 18'' thing was really just to make him calm down and get him under control. ppl are saying shes a better mother this season but shes really not, shes just using other manipulation tactics now that hes fighting back. i saw a tweet the other day that explained what i mean better than i can (dont read the last tweet by op in the thread unless youve watched ep 4) https://twitter.com/willesomar/status/1588932159821078529?s=20&t=896SIepf9_6NDJuzskGvbA

wilhelm not having control over anything and being so hurt and betrayed has basically given him tunnel vision. hes driven by all his emotions, and all hes focusing on is revenge on august and getting simon back, which leads him to becoming very wrapped up in himself and not getting simons pov. hes desperate. its not healthy and though i dont think kristina sent him to a counselor for the right reasons im so glad hes going, he really needs to talk to someone :(

Wilhelm saying to Felice that ”it’s impossible to feel that way” is my favorite line ever.. that is so true and his sadness feels so very authentic 🥺

Harry, I think that one of the reasons I enjoy your reactions so much is that you strike such a good balance between analysis and raw emotions. I love that in episode one you’re being very reasonable and saying you just want Simon to be happy even if that’s with Markus but by fairly early in episode two, it’s’ No, I want Wilhelm and Simon to be together’. Same, same, along with thousands of other people who are yelling this at their screens! Also I agreed with just about everything that you said about both episodes but I also think that Simon suggesting a horror movie to Markus is an attempt to recreate the horror movie night when he and Wilhelm first kissed in season one episode two. Later on, I think we see other instances of ways in which he does this or does the opposite and attempts to fence off his memories of times with Wilhelm to make them untouchable. Their coping mechanisms are different but in each case, express how despite trying to keep distance or even move on, they still love each other and want to be together.

Yeah and it didn’t work, so he’s trapped in a room with a guy he doesn’t really want to get involved with, having to watch an action movie! There’s a very telling scene in episode 4, too.
