Patrick and Ivan's relationship is definitely a strange one. Thinking back to the fight they had at the club in the first episode, Ivan said that he's tired and frustrated of trying to prove his love when confronted with Patrick's jealousy and insecurity. This makes me think that they've had that same fight multiple times because you wouldn't be tired and frustrated after one incident. Patrick said that he gets anxious when he thinks about losing Ivan instead of just enjoying every moment with him. It's a very pointed statement when we know that Ivan is going to get hit by a car. I like that the title of the episode "Anxiety" referred to not only Isadora's anxiety, but also Patrick's. In this episode, I don't think Patrick was trying to be manipulative with his live stream. Even though Patrick has been manipulative in the past to get what he wants, I think his intentions were honorable in this case. You can see in his eyes how torn up he was about the situation and he was trying to own up to his mistakes by taking the fall for Cruz. I don't like how Ivan is so quick to call Patrick selfish and toxic, when he's been just as selfish and just as toxic, maybe even more so. I just remember last season Ivan would constantly lead Patrick on, reject him, apologize, and repeat the cycle. The fact that Ivan makes Patrick, who is one of the most obnoxiously confident characters that have been on the show, feel so insecure is proof that they aren't good for each other. Even knowing all of this, Patrick and Ivan have had moments/scenes that are some of my favorites from the entire series.

The title of this episode "Selfies" is pretty clever. This is clearly a reference to the running theme this season of social media and the negativity it breeds. I think it's also a play on words with many of the characters going through some serious self reflection. Sara and Didac were forced to self reflect on their negative behavior towards Isadora when confronted with her truth. Patrick and Cruz both took accountability for the actions that were sabotaging each of their relationships with Ivan.

Gawd Ari is such a disaster. I don't think she was thinking ahead at all when she booked the suite ("what did she think they were going to do?"), but of course her behavior in the moment with Nico was awful. He was doing so well and then she comes along and hurts him like that. But what also made me mad: The Elite writers AGAIN had a scene where Ari was absolutely wasted, the guy by her side acknowledged it - Nico pointed out how drunk she was when they were going up the stairs I think - and then proceeds to go to bed with her. In this case they didn't have sex, but the point is, they could have. And the writers don't treat this like out of the ordinary at all. Samuel had sex with Ari while she was so drunk she didn't even remember the next day- "haha, so funny, let's have Samu make a joke about that!" Nico is about to have sex with Ari when she couldn't walk in a straight line anymore minutes earlier- "oh that's really hot!" Consent isn't just when someone isn't saying no. You have to be in a position where you're able to consent, and not drunk out of your mind. This show, I swear... I like s6 better than the last two, but some things still drive me crazy.

I didn't like this either. Almost all of Ari's sexual encounters on the show have been while she was intoxicated. Her heavy drinking this season made me think that she's had a problem with alcohol for a while. Every time she drinks, she makes a comment about how she doesn't drink that much which is definitely something an addict would say. When the siblings were presented in season 4, they made it seem like she was the one who had her shit together but she's actually the most fucked up of the three.

YES, I think you're right with all of this. Having to always be the put together one probably contributed to her drinking problem, too.
