Yeah you're definately right, I do tend to see logic above all else so I sometimes find it hard to get out of that and think purely about how they would be feeling in the moment. I just really hope Nico can find someone else as Ari hasn't been treating him right at all

Hmmm. Nico said that statement to Ari out of jealousy/anger. It was not to defend Bilal, but simply to offend Ari. I think Bilal could’ve taken it not simply as “That’s all you are to Ari,” but “That’s all you are.” Period. And given that he was attacked multiple times, multiple ways in this day alone (Basically Questioned by Ari if he’s here as “The help”, the racism by Raul’s friend, getting knocked upside the head with a glass object) I doubt he’s really in the mental state to assume anything but the worst. Especially since Ari also told Bilal not to defend him, but to hurt Nico. I could understand seeing them both as Assholes at that point in time. Getting shot in their crossfire. I could also go into the stereotypes that Nico’s statement could be rooted in, and how Black Men can often be over-sexualized from it but……pass 🤷🏾‍♂️

This episode was one of the best Elite has had in a while. The music choices alone were so good, they gave me chills as I was watching. From the fights during the football game, the rioting after the game, and then to Cruz being beaten to death, the show really displayed how dangerous homophobia in the sport can be. This season premiered right before the World Cup, and I hope Elite sparked some much needed conversations around the world.

You're very logical about how Nico should just leave Ari in the dust. Yeah, you're totally right - he absolutely should. But this whole "Why does he even want to be with her when she's been so ignorant and awful to him?" doesn't really work IMO. He likes her. He wants her to like him back and he wants to be with her. Nico hasn't determined that after carefully thinking through his decision, it's what's in his heart. And our hearts can lead us down paths that make no damn logical sense. Look at s1 and (part of) s2 Lu and Guzman. She was so desperately in love with him and kept trying to get him to love her back. Why would she want to be with someone who did not want to be with her, who did not love her and who treated her like crap most of the time? No logical explanation. She just really hoped that if she did everything she could and held on long enough, he would eventually love her back. The heart wants what it wants.
