After discovering some interesting news about someone in Marcel's inner circle, Klaus and Rebekah come together to attempt to unravel Marcel's empire from within in spite of Elijah's concerns. They enlist help from Sophie, who is reluctant to get involved for fear of the wrath of Marcel's secret weapon, Davina. Rebekah sneakily invites an oblivious Camille to a huge vampire party thrown by Marcel, managing to anger Marcel in the process. Elsewhere, Hayley learns from the witch Sabine that the supernatural creatures of New Orleans are reacting to the potential existence of a hybrid baby and is told the gender of her and Klaus' child.

And that is the main appeal of Klaus, he is so incredibly clever, that is always a step ahead on anybody and the advantage of been a long time vampire is that you get to know the human psycology/nature so well that he can reed people easely to his oun advantage.

The main writer of TVD and TO are the same sometimes they are shared and sometimes they s are more edicated, but nevertherless are the same , and I agree with you nobody does anymore this kind of complexity in the present days show, not even the one that did TVD, Julie Pleg after doing TVD and TO got her memory earased by a vampire and was never able to reproduce this kind f quality, forgot how to do casting, forgot how important ithe trope of sex/violence/power in vampires shows. Enjoy TVD and TO because after that there is the absolute viod of quality and promess never to watch Legacies, the spin off of the spin off, that is an absolute 💩 show, to keep the good memories of quality of the TVDU.

BUT if any of you want a very good vampire show interview with the vampire (2022) was rly good and season 2 is confirmed xdd if legacies isnt doing it for yall

Patpet

I didn't watch Interview with the vampire for a reason, I can give it a try but I didn't like the casting. I find the actors, boring and not carismatic, I feel like is one of those modern show, where the casting isn't done with the purpose to find a great actor, super sexy, super charismatic that fit the role to the point that you cannot think of anybody else playing that part as it happen in TVD or in TO, instead is done to tick all the boxes of ethnicity, and gender, that makes the show difficult to engage with and very flat emotionally. Also it is not respetfull of the Anne Rice concept of why Luis De Pointe Du Lac, that should be French (in the film was Brad Pitt) has this inner turmoil with his morality that is very much linked to the era believes and sensibility, romanticism and the awakeing of the mind etc. making the books very grounded in history, for the audiences that already know and ricognose the concepts, to make the character more relatable and undestandable. What they did in the recent TV series is, they change the era, to fit that fact that now all of the sudden Luis is black creole and to make it "squiky clean", erasing the fact that Lestrad and Luis were plantetion owners, and feeding on slaves too, justy to fit this silly modern audience that get offended by just about anything and don't get the beauty of the non politicaly correctness of vampire shows that shoudn't be "MORALLY" puritanic, because than what is the point? I don't understand why they kept the title since there is nothing of the Anne Rice book in it, or maybe I do, to "clikbathing" the audiences, to make numbers. So to be honest with those premissis I felt it wasn't for me. To me a vampire show has to have sex and violence intertwined but with a solid reason, the actors have to be super sexy, charismatic and seductive, and has to give the audince good solid reason, grownded in reality for the vampires inner turmoils otherwise it is only a winy dude doing things for reasons that are boring and takes the show from a letterary level to a flat non artistic merit level of cheap consumerism entertainment that makes it uniteresting to any adult. I was surprise they renew to a second season, because all vampire shows that came out recently with those premisis have been cancel, including the lastes Julie Plec one, Vampire Accademy, due to the fact that the casting is a disaster and the show is politically correct therefore boring, nobody is watcing it. TVD an TO hasn't teach this people anything, that is why TVD ranks 17 in the list of the most watch show of all times and is getting in time more and more popular and the rest of those show will be forgotten in few months for good. Art and politically correctnees do not belong in the same realm. Art purpose is to push the boundries and even be "unconfortable", otherwise we never advance, we never explore new things, we never learn to think outside the box, we never challange ourselves, but just live on a flat line life with no disconfort or excitment, becoming all snowflakes, loosing track of what should really makes us feel outraged and it's truly worth fighting for.

i havent read any of the books but many fans of the original work enjoyed this show it has a lot of those elements that u mentioned, that makes a great vampire show and the actors to me were one of the best parts in the show, acting and chemistry was off the charts to me it didnt feel like it was trying to be super politically correct i understand that some people dont like how different it is from the books which is fair but as a tv show i thought it was 10/10 and i cant wait to see more

Patpet

Well I've read the opposite, you just have to read the negative comments made on IMb of the fans of the books and of Anne Rice work in general, that confirmed the opinion I've got from the trailers the teasers and from how much the show it was pushed by the general press an social media. I came to recognise when they realise they spend lots of money of a product that is weak, and therefore needs to be pushed, a lot more that usual. But I haven't seen it, I just saw the trailers and the teasers. I didn't find the actors particularly actractive nor sexy, I don't see them to be comparable to any of the TVD/TO men , nor to the actractiveness of the actors used in The film. And the fact that so much has been changed, it made it another thing entirely. But as I said I haven't seen it, I will have to take a look at it to be sure. When I will have the chance to see it somewhere for free I'll give it a try, but I must say I watch way too many shows and films, all my long life not to get the gest of what is good to watch and what is not, you have just so many hours to dedicate to watch something and living and working that at a certain point you have to make a decision on what to watch an what not. And I, for the love of the genre, I've watch way to many trashy/mediocre show and films, not to be cautious in giving my time to something I sense is going to desappoint me. Like Legacies, that I force myself to watch 3 seasons, for the love of one specific character, I won't mention, but you know who I mean, and the francise, hoping it would get gosd at some point, I wuld memorise the name of the characters an the actors, I would take an interest in the story lines and it never happened, I still can't remember the names of the actors, that much forgettable, mediocre, unrelatable etc they where I don't think wil will ever seen them again on anything ever, that mach uncharismatic they where. And being so puzzled by the absolute crap I was watching, I could not believe it was done by the same person, Julie Plec that made two television master piece. What happen? Did she got a bump on her head an forgot entirely how to write a good show? I think it lasted 4 season just out of respect for her previous success, and finally cancelled on the 4th season,..like, please put this bad shamble of a show out its misery, kill it kill it kill it please, It's ruined the francise!! Or The Vampire Accademy...where do I start on that one too, so bad, the actors so bad. Or the other one, First Kill, oh a LGBTQ vampire series, it could have been potentially promessing and interesting, we could have get some depth there...(face palm)... that was so bad that it was laughable, again cancelled after the first season. I don't even know why they were produced in the first place. So, now If I can spare myself of another "time waister mediocre show" I do.

Savannah

I read interview with the vampire and couldn't finish the first episode of the show. Besides the changes from the book, something about the way it was directed and the casting just did not catch my eye or keep my attention. Maybe I'll give it another chance but I have very high expectations when it comes to vampire shows because of TVD and unfortunately I have yet to find one that lives up to it (besides TO but there wouldn't be TO without TVD). I also read the vampire academy books and Julie Plec really could have made another masterpiece show, but once again she ruined it just like she ruined Legacies. Casting sucked, acting was horrendous, the plot was rushed, and don't even get me started on the background music. TVD has the best music scores out of all the shows I have seen (shoutout Michael Suby!), and it makes every scene more impactful. I really tried to like First Kill but the acting was once again too cheesy and the CGI was terrible. This is why I find myself rewatching TVD 10000x, I just want a new vampire show that gives me the same feelings. But fantasy shows have unfortunately become less popular, and the newer ones are always too low-budget for my taste. If you like those other vamp shows don't come for me, just my opinion!

nennu

well i guess we’ve heard different things i absolutely loved the show let me live guys xdd jeez

Patpet

@Savannah preciselly my point I so agree with you on everything. The only fantasy show I liked recently was The Sandman, I look forward for the second season, anything else just trushy or bad casting/bad acting, or low budget nonsense or too much videogamish with no substance. I know TVD/TO are so far unbeated, on any level.

Patpet

@JennyLaine I will have to see it at list the first episode to tell you for sure, but the premisses aren't good, to my taste. But i'm glad you at least find something you liked, it's so rare.

Savannah

@Jenni lol no hate towards you hon, we all like different things :) I might giveinterview another chance honestly, especially if there's going to be a season 2. @Patpet Yup they hit the jackpot with TVD/TO. I'll have to check out The Sandman, I've heard about it but wasn't sure if it was my kind of show.

Patpet

@Savannah I don't know if it's to your taste but at least isn't low budget. The casting was controvertial, according to the people that knew the original comics, but I tought it was interesting, and the story kept my interest and was original.

Kitty Underwood

I read the books, interview is one of my favorite books of all times, and the movie is my favorite vampire movie, and i absolutely loved the show and can't wait for season 2
