Silas happily announces his new goal to Damon and Elena, but they are skeptical when he promises to accomplish one important task in return for their help. Qetsiyah confidently tells Stefan about her next move, then realizes that Silas has managed to outsmart her. A desperate Katherine discovers a new and unexpected consequence of becoming human again, and realizes she needs a new place to stay. In exchange for a spot in the dorm room, she offers to show Caroline how to get answers from Dr. Maxfield. Bonnie is touched by Jeremy's strength and determination to stand by her. Finally, Damon is stunned when he figures out the secret to Qetsiyah's plan.

This season the writers are on fire regarding humour. I find Qetsiyah/Tessa and Silas hilarious, hugely entertaining and I don’t know why but every time I hear Paul talking like Silas, I hear Christopher Walken…. same kind of dry psychopathic humour, same rhythmic cadence in his voice. Damon lines as well are just as great, as season one “put that crossbow down Pocahontas” or “Elena met Crazy Pants” Damon’s nick names are an absolute hoot. His quick lines are legendary. Kudos to the writers, to make a character funny/sarcastic/sassy isn’t easy at all, that is why Damon is the prototype of so many characters that follow and try to replicate the same formula, sexy, stylish, funny, sassy quick liner, some successfully (Iron Man), some too much of a clear copy and as any too obvious copy feels already seen and not as good as the original (Lucifer). Talking about talent, Paul as well is playing Stefan normal, the ripper, Silas. But Nina, I’ve lost count of the different type of characters she is playing, and they are all different, Amara is the last addition. Everybody kept in a box frozen but with your brain fully functioning for 2000 year, would go insane, but here there is something more. She is the anchor, the very thing that bound the spell to destroy the other side but the anchor of what? She seems to be talking with air and she seems to be in excruciating mental pain at the point of feeling suicidal. So they have to keep her alive in order for Silas to help with Bonnie. It is funny as Qetsiyah bring out co-dependency referring to Elena, with Stefan present, when we all know that Stefan is the co-dependent one. That means that writers are very aware of what co-dependency is. Damon and Elena relationship is based on trust, not on the boyfriend saying yes to anything she says. Elena doesn’t want a yes man, she wants someone that stand up to her when she is wrong and put herself in danger, and someone that doesn’t treat her as a perfect doll. She needs someone she can trust to do the right things even when it’s a though choice, someone that stand next to her no matter what, someone that would go to any length to save her, even against himself best interest and that is Damon. Everything that happened in the past played a big role in Elena’s mind and it was crucial in her ultimate choice of man. The point is that Damon is the action man of the group, the one that get things done, the person that at this point, everybody, Stefan included, count on to do things nobody wants to do, but that must be done. Damon is a smart thinker, he finds a way to make things happening, he is an outside the box thinker, and doesn’t care about reputation, or what people think about him, but at this point everybody knows that and admire his level of commitment and integrity and learn to rely on it. When you find a smart solution that isn’t at all obvious, you can just solve one problem at the time, sort what is in front of you and than sort whatever consequences are going to be. By the way good to see you back Harry, I wish you the best from now on.

I think Elena saying about Damon that he always put her life about everything else is what made Stefan understand why Elena is with Damon now. Before this all he knew was that he dated Elena first, and now Damon is dating her, and he was resentful because he thought it was something they both did to him maliciously. I don't think he took it as that's why she's with him over Stefan though
