Took this writeup from another reaction Patreon comment section. It is such a thorough explanation of the different. Grisha. So here you go: "...Heartrenders, Healers, and Tailors all have powers over the body. Its kind of like having a major and minor in college/university, where one is the general thing where you learn basic stuff about the human body and the other one is more specific to what you're naturally inclined to/better at. Major - Corporalki Minor - heartrender (cause harm), healer (heal...lol), Tailors (modify appearances, Genya is one of the only ones to be able to do this really well) Fabrikators are more confusing because there isn't much difference between a Durast and an Alkemi, but essentially durasts can manipulate solid material (not just metal) and Alkemi specialize in poisons and explosive powders (magic Wylan I guess?). To be honest I’ve only read the crows' two books so I dont really know what alkemi do specifically. Major - Fabrikator/Materialki Minor - Durast (manipulate solid material & Jesper's order), Alkemi (manipulate chemicals) The elemental ones (summoners, technically the Darkling and Alina are these) are easier to understand Major - Summoners/Etherealki Minors - inferni (fire), tidemakers (water), squaller (air), darkness, light I'm not sure about the other two but I'm pretty sure some really powerful squallers can create storms/incorporate lightning. In the same sense that an exceptionally smart person would double minor sometimes the exceptionally powerful grisha can do the same. This is why Genya can also heal and Nina can do some healing and minor tailoring. Tbh it seems like the corporalki can do all three easier than the others can but I dont know for sure."
