Do you think we will see Gilli again?

Hypothetical thought experiment: since alot can be said that Merlin is only good due to how he is being raised, if he had the same backstory as Gilli, where he knew his dad and had been given his gifts under the shroud of secrecy with no one to train or nurture him. Do you think he would have turned out differently?
