Genevieve asks Elijah to allow her coven to publicly celebrate a traditional feast day, where members of the community offer the witches gifts in return for blessings. Monique and Genevieve disagree over what the ancestors want from them, and Genevieve reveals her plan to build the witches' power. When Elijah focuses his attention on restoring their home to its former glory, Klaus accuses him of doing it only to impress Hayley. Next, Klaus sets a new plan in motion by finding Cary, a werewolf from his own line, and sending him off to find a missing piece of family history. Marcel lets Thierry in on his new plan to rebuild his power, but Diego has his own ideas about the future. At the Feast of the Blessings, Monique and Genevieve try to use the ceremony to teach Davina a lesson, but Klaus intervenes and gives Davina a surprisingly important gift. While Hayley struggles to decide where her loyalties should lie, the ceremony explodes into violence.

When Klaus said he didn't know Hayley is a Queen, he meant her attitude. He didn't know she had what it takes to actually be a Queen, not just be born into it

And as far as getting Esther's grimoire, I don't think they are able to communicate with the ancestors efficiently enough for her to just tell them all of her spells

Hi, i know this is a little late, but i was rewatching the reaction after some time and am i the only one uncomfortable with the last scene between Elijah and Marcel?? while watching it, it just suddenly downed on me that Marcel was a slave. Klaus literally saved him from that slavery.. and this privileged man in a suit comes up to him and goes "you live and die by my will?" umm.. it's like Marcel never came out of that situation at all and is getting sh*t on by Elijah every single time. with such words that make Marcel's past situation with slavery so much more frustrating. i just recently noticed that detail and ever since it made me uncomfortable. i knew i didn't like Elijah as a character in later seasons but i never noticed how unlikable he is in the beginning as well. but people tend to like him for some "noble" stuff that he does half decently.. well, i was one of them. watching Originals now, i can't believe he was my favorite character in TVD, oh, how the things change. i guess one has to rewatch stuff a couple times to see the new perspectives.. definitely my least favorite Mikaelson after Finn.. Can't wait for the finale! all the love!
