And we finally met Kay. So many actors had their first big break on this show. Clearly he was in that world before Bonnie and Damon arrived there. Your deduction is correct, in the desperate search to save Bonnie, Sheila, her grandma, must have heard of this place, where Kai is, and made a deal to save her, and Damon by holing hands with her went along, thanks god for that!! The question is why Kay is there all alone? And clearly since he wants to get out of there he must have been there out of his will. In the meantime we have a situation in Mystic Falls with one of the founding family in the know and Enzo got in the middle of it. I did at this point have mixed feelings about Enzo, but I like him, and he is Damon's friends, that had a terrible life, and he is a bit of a loose cannon, but he I don't think he meant what he said about giving Stefan a life of misery, he said that because he was triggered by Caroline crying and he is an old fashion guy, an old fashion gentleman. And was very disappointed with Stefan because he was trying his best to find out things to bring Damon back, his friend he bond with through a terrible ordeal, and hearing that Damon's brother as given up his search to his POV is a big disappointment an wanted to hurt him, to shake him out. He doesn't know how much Stefan loves his brother, but he cares. He is finally free, and Damon was the only person that kept him around, he could have gone everywhere, but he chose to stay, because like everybody else he feels alone and he is trying very hard to find connections, purpose in life, some roots. Well is not like Stefan hasn't killed him already and the fact that this time he doesn't care at all of what Damon would say if he came back, means that he doesn't think he would come back at all. I find the banter between Damon and Bonnie so cute and entertaining, they are like an old married couple, they biker all the time but Bonnie finally likes Damon very much, and Damon cares and respect the hell out of her. Who would have thought that Damon and Bonnie in season ne that they would be friend let alone they would like each other very much as they do at this point? You got Stefan's reaction to Caroline speech perfectly; he just can't handle things, emotions, friends, and his old life right now and from his POV it's so undertsandable. But Caroline POV is understandable too. Poor Caroline as I said she feels isolated, she can't speak openly with Elena, she can't be with her mom at home, and she hoped she could have the guy she has feeling for there for her at list a bit caring as she does. But is not that he doesn't care, he doesn't allow himself to care because is too much for him, right now. Nuances of feelings are such an exquisite subtle thing in TVD, and the writers are a PRO in nuances, in fact TVD is fundamentally a detailed essay in human emotional nuances of feelings in various life circumstances. And that is why I love this show so much and I have the greatest respect for the writers of this show.
