We share the same interest, I love shows heavy on psychology and TVD is the most comprehensive psychology driven show I’ve ever came across with. The Gemini coven storyline has been planted in season 5, that’s TVD, nothing is casual, it kind of spoil you and ruin thing for you because you expect the other show to do the same and hardly ever happen. Anyway, yes Kay said the same thing Jo said that he took one of his sibling splint because he liked her and people can live without a splint, talking about dysfunctional family it’s an understatement. Kay is a real psychopath, he is as funny as hell, but because of that he is even scarier, poor Bonnie stack in the other world with Kay, that look like he has a bit of a thing for her, scary and creepy, but boy she is clever sending the bear with her magic in to Damon ....those two, I love them. The situation regarding Stefan and Caroline was really funny, Enzo is such a character, spilling out the awkward truth about Caroline’s feeling to Stefan was such a funny embarrassing moment of pure gold, Stefan and Caroline reactions of utter embarrassment were hilarious. The point here is that Stefan is terrible listener, and not particularly perceptive. So in his mind they were friend and he couldn’t read the signs, signs that everybody could see but him. So being a simple friendship, it was expendable in the face of the terrible grief he was experiencing. It would have been different if he was in love with Caroline, because he would have find comfort in having her around. Caroline is well aware of that, he left because he didn’t have loving feeling for her, he never look at her that way, he didn’t even consider it as a possibility and that must hurt. Also Stefan is a bit spoilt, aware of his charming/smooth talking skills with everybody and he is taking that for granted, like everybody being charmed by him is something given, not earn, and he is expecting from her to act like nothing has happened and that is not how things works. I don’t think Caroline hates Stefan, like Enzo said “she hates you because she doesn’t hate you” but she is hurting and she doesn’t want to give him the satisfaction to see it. I like that Caroline has self pride to be able to admit to him that she has a thing for him, because she thought he was worth for her to be consider having a thing for, but now she is giving him a hard time about it, because she thinks she deserve to be consider more than just someone expendable or available whenever he feels like it or not, she is sending him a message “I am worth it and you have to work hard for having me around” very clever form of seduction, and she got it, for someone like Stefan is an interesting switching of parts, before she was running after him, now he had to run after her if he wants her, and that got Stefan’s attention. What I don’t like about Caroline is that she is very judgemental. All her life she considers Elena a good obliging, rule following girl that would have never done something that is not agreeable to society rules or appearance. But that is not Elena, not anymore, she grow up and became a woman and she is not anymore the little insecure girl that wanted to please everybody. She is a woman now and she knows what she wants and she doesn’t let anymore everybody else decide about her life, but Caroline has got the message, she is still stack in the past and as a control freak that she is, something that is “imperfect”, unruly, wild, uncontrollable, is unsettling her and she is very vocal and forceful about it. But Elena being Elena is very understanding, she knows her and accept the good and the bad of Caroline and she doesn’t pay much attention to it, that is why Bonnie is Elena main best friend and Caroline comes second, because she can really confide in her without judgement. Damon came such a long way, he is confident in of himself now, he knows he is worth loving. He wasn’t jealous of the “new guy” he knows that she loved him and what they had was true love. So he tried to get her back, not by talking to her but by making her feel the straights, the power of his love her an what they had by communicating to her with words and tender body language on a level of intimacy and connection that only people deeply in love have, and she felt that, she felt the disconnection between the emptiness she feels and the possibility of what he is conveying to her, that is precisely what Elena always wanted, what she is drown to. That is how much Damon knows her, he can uncompelled her but he knows what she wants, why she chose him, who she is, what motivate her, what makes her tick, what the source of her love for him come from and even if she doesn’t feel those feeling, she recognise what he is describing is undoubtedly her, the person that only her knows and for him to have such profound understanding of her, and that what he is saying makes so much sense, she recognise herself, that motivated her to the point she was willing to feel herself drawing after the border to get her memories back, to get back of the possibility of such an intense connection with someone that gets her that much. She is wild and reckless as he is and Damon knows that and because of that, he doesn’t want her to be reckless with her life, he would never want for Elena to be in danger so he tells her he would let her go, he wants her to be happy and to find by herself the way back to her true life. Last time Damon split up with her was because he had to work out things, now is the opposite it’s her that needs to work things out. The writers love to draw parallels, even if the situations are different, the result is the same. Caroline and Damon stated their piece, they put on the table the weight and the importance of the value at stake, got Stefan and Elena attention and now the ball is in their court, and if they want to they have to work for it, knowing that Elena can’t resist a challenge, danger, fun, adventure and Stefan can’t understand how someone could possibly resist his charm, someone that thinks she is better than him.

There is a deleted scene that was supposed to be in the next episode, its on youtube if any wants to watch. I won't detail it out too much but Stefan tells Damon about Caroline having feelings for him. He is genuinely surprised & in shock at her having feelings for him. Stefan does not exactly consider himself "pure", he broods 😂 but he sees Caroline as good & very intact with her humanity. So in this episode what I got from his "Why? Why did you have feelings for me? How do you have feelings for me?" is that he doesn't feel worthy of her having feelings for him. Not because of their recent issues but he doesn't feel deserving of them at all, especially since she's seen every side of him; good and bad.

Perhaps is was deleted for a reason. Stefan was the apple of his dad eye, was the chosen one by everybody, it is not in Stefan character to doudt about his ability to charm people especially woman, Stefan is very self-righteous because he has a very high self esteem and his self esteem bring him to reject his dark side, to suppress it because in his mind that side of him doesn't match with his "top of the class" image, that is why he is a ripper, because he is repressed. But in his mind he is the best brother, the good one, the right one, that is why everybody choose him. that is how he was raised to think, that is how everybody reinforced that mind set (the one thinking he wasn't good enough worth loving is Damon, not Stefan). So it would be very out of character to self doubt his ability to actract Caroline, the one he told "Caroline....me and you....is not going to happen" and after that he thought she got the message, Caroline that never fail to remind him how wonderful he is, "how can Elena chose Damon instead of you, you are you and him... yack...she must be out of her mind...it must be her confused newby vampire hearth....must be the sire bond" that was Caroline "song" for all season 4, that is why they become such a close friends, she feeds into his ego. So, his surprise at Caroline having a thing for him is not modesty, it can't be, it's more that he took her for granted, he never consider Caroline girlfriend material. He left her behind without even say goobye, that is why Caroline is so hurt, because she realise he never consider her she could elevated to a status of possible girlfriend, to the status Elena was, not because he doesn't appreciate her as a person but because he never though of her to be good enough as possible girlfriend and he though she was aware of this. But with that speach at the hospital she told him "YOU are not good enough for me" and she got his attention and got him thinking.....and .....something else I can't say because is a spoiler, really got him thinking....

Oh yes, do you remember when Tyler made that girl fall down the stairs and after when he recall the accident to Mason, he said he had this feeling of relief when he though she was dead, and that feeling got him freaked out. Tyler is constantly put in a situation of fighting, of weard happenings, because the course push to be activated.

old comment but this is straight up not true 😭 Stefan’s entire character is him seeing himself as a monster and being weighed down by the guilt of his past actions as well as the ripper bubbling under the surface. He’s referred to himself as a monster multiple times throughout the series and when he was with Elena used to say she was too good for him. Stefan being seen as a “good” person is from how other characters view him. His shock at Caroline’s feelings is unsurprising. Up until early s5 she was still advocating for him to get back with Elena. Not to mention the fact that at this point, Stefan had JUST gotten over Elena, so the idea of her being into him is not one that would cross his mind. Especially when she’s not acting too differently towards him considering how close they’ve been since s2.

Elena never apologized for what she did and said to Caroline w/o humanity but Caroline apologized to Elena after she turned hers back on so Elena have been a bad friend and not just to Caroline.. the “Caroline is too judgmental” is overused especially when all the characters have a lot of judgmental & gossipy moments but Caroline the only one that just judged for it 💀

You cannot possibly compare Elena to Caroline. Caroline never apologise to Elena for what she did and said with her humanity off. Caroline is written to be judgemental, jealous, gossipy, to be one that cannot keep things that are not her business for herself, she was the one that wanted Elena to be miss perfect and act as society expected from her, a little good girl that is expected to go out with Stefan only because Caroline fancied Stefan and didn't wanted Elena with Damon because she had feelings for Klaus she didn't wanted to admit. So I don't understand your post, she was not a good friend to Elena, nor to Stefan, she told him things that weren't her business to tell. She forced him to switch his humanity off, went she had her off. She made lots of huge mistakes that hurted everyone. Than she is not a bad person, but her mistakes stem from her being judgemental, a control freak, and for projecting herself in situations she wished be hers or not, without realising that other people are different and needs different things from what she thinks is "right". Caroline will get a major reality check in season 8 that will change entirely her level of maturity and her judgemental nature.
