Damon killed Zach because he felt guilty for killing his wife and unborn child, and looking at Zack reminded him of that guilt. He killed Lexi for the same reason, he felt guilty for locking her on the roof in the 70s, so he killed her to not have to look at her and feel the guilt anymore. So yeah I don't blame Stefan for not telling him about Sarah. Maybe now he would be different, but why chance it

As you pointed out, the storyline of Liz hits harder because is real, because every family experienced that, at some point in life and also because after 6 season we are emotionally invested in the characters life, like we know them, and we care about them, and Liz has become a very beloved character. You are correct TVD is beautifully written. In a way it spoils the joy of watching other shows because we are now used to this level of depth, complexity, and quality writing that hardly ever is met. I love Damon and Elena relationship. There is no escape, they belong together, because he is her match, on any level, he made her feel good, alive, loved truly and he thrive with her, she brings out the best in him, she made him feel just as much loved as she does, they share so many things. She could have erase events that happened, but not what she wants, and her type is a hero, she said to Liam, and Damon his always there for her to save her, to save Bonnie, to save the situation, he is her hero with her same sense of humour, the tease she pulled to him, pretending to die….and laughing about and the hands holding, she is realising she is falling in love with him again. Adorable. As it is Stefan and Caroline. He had time to think and to realise the possibility of something more with her, what he was losing, and that idea is appealing more and more especially because the circumstance made her more vulnerable and open to let him in again. And we know that Stefan is partial to women that are vulnerable and in need. In a way this is a repeating of the situation with Elena, but this time Stefan is more mature, have a loving family with Damon and everybody, doesn’t need to pretend he is human to be happy anymore, he accepted his status as vampire and can just be. That led him open to new possibilities.

Damon killed Zack because he had his humanity on a dimmer switch and because he was reminder of what he did when he had his humanity off. Lexi he killed her because she was always in between him and his brother and because she showed up and torture him to get his humanity switch on,, without even bothering to find out WHY he switch it off in the first place, like he needed to be torture some more after spending 5 years having his organs poked, is eyes taken off, waiting desperately to be rescue by Stefan t and that never happen and when he needed his brother the most, Lexi showed up with her draconian methods and her self-righteous manner. No wonder he used her to get rid of the council, and of her intrusive presence between him and his brother. To be honest, I always tough Lexi character is not that much likeable. So I don't think there is reasons to keep Sarah's life as a secret from Damon now, but as well keeping her human life out of anything that is supernatural and everything that comes with it, is not a bad idea.

I was never thrilled that Stefan lied to Damon about Sarah. Damon changed a lot in the prison world. His time with Bonnie has changed him. He seems more balanced and happier. He has worked really hard on his behaviour. Elena sees that, too. I mean, even without her memory of why she loved him, she falls in love with him again. That's so sweet. The two of them just belong together. Damon is tormented about the bad things he did back then, and I think knowing he didn't kill the baby would give him some peace. Besides, I hate lying. Nothing good ever comes out of it.

I don't think Damon killed Zach just because of his guilt. If he had, he would have killed Zach as soon as he got back to the Salvatore house. A lot of things came together. Damon was locked in the basement and starving. He was weakened by the vervain and the hunger, so he had to take the only chance he had. He couldn't let Zach lock him up again. Then Zach was also a descendant of the man who had sold him to Augustine to get the Salvatore money, and that was always on Damon's mind. He had endured five years of horrible torture, lost his humanity and these guys were happily living in his house.

If Stefan kept the supernatural out of Sarah’s life, why not extend the same courtesy to Elena? We all know Stefan is good with words when he applies himself, so why not ask Damon how he feels about the incident, especially after seeing Damon coming back from the prison world? Stefan has seen Damon trying to redeem himself; why not even try to find out what Damon thinks about what he did to Sarah and her mother? Such information would help the brothers mend their wounds.
