In many ways, Damon was the worst person for Elena to ask about how she transitioned from Stefan to Damon because he is the person most likely to sell Elena's feelings for him short. I just wish someone had told her more about her specific memory loss and that it required her to find the moment she fell in love with Damon, aka her 18th birthday. While she was still human, while she was technically still with Stefan, and less than a year after meeting Stefan in the first place. To be honest, the "it's always going to be Stefan" didn't last that long. It kind of seems like it was always going to be Damon.

The topic of soulmates is very interesting to me. When it comes to Elena I have always been of the opinion that Elena and Stefan are soulmates while Elena and Damon are twin flames. Soulmates don't have to be romantic in nature but they do have an instant and strong connection with one another. They can be siblings, best friends, parent/child, etc. The connection is usually very strong which is why people usually try and pursue a relationship. Sometimes it fails but that person tends to remain in your life even after the fact. For example, my best friend and I dated for 5 years and it was hard when we broke up but we still worked on our friendship because we still meant a lot to one another. Now we both date other people but we are still incredibly close and I cant imagine my life without him. You can also have more than one soulmate but you can only have one twin flame. Soulmates are two souls that share a connection. Twin flames on the other hand are basically two parts of one soul. The relationship is often more exciting, tumultuous and challenging. I read somewhere that a twin flame allows you to resolve insecurities and issues you might have within yourself. If we look at Elena's relationship with Stefan and Damon. Being with Stefan felt "safe". It had its complications, yes, but it was relatively easier. She didn’t have to tap into the darkest parts of herself and maybe if she had continued with Stefan as a human she could have been happy, but at the same time she would have lived in denial about certain parts of herself. Turning into a vampire made those parts in Elena stronger, bringing them to the forefront. She went from prey to predator. She could no longer ignore them and being with Stefan wouldn’t have worked because it would have been miserable to keep those parts of herself at bay. Her relationship with Damon is a lot more challenging because with him she does have to face those “insecurities” and accept them. A twin flame comes into our lives to ignite a process of discovery within ourselves. A soulmate’s connection is instant while a twin flame can take some time because it can be uncomfortable at first since it’s basically a mirror that brings up everything a person has not dealt with. To me, if I look at it this way and just from the show, Stefan’s twin flame is Rebekah - but that's another rant for another day LOL.

I do not think that Stefan and Elena were compatible, I am talking Elena in general, because human or vampire Elena has retain her personality traits, she is just more mature therefore she doesn’t seek anymore her friends or society approval, as we all do when we grow up. Stefan and Elena got together under specific circumstances, Elena was grieving her parents and she needed someone that was exciting and trilling to shake her off the state of numbness she was in and wanting to start liking life again. Stefan in her saw an opportunity to change his love story gone bad with Katherine to rewrite it the way he imagine it should have gone when he was human, Elena made him human again, reconnected him with that side of him he missed because his vampirism lead him to do very bad things, that never first that image of himself of the golden boy, father’s favourite, the good brother, and Elena was his chance to feel that way. Not to mention the passenger spell that attracted the doppelgänger, that made them get together pretty fast, and the fact that Damon compelled her to get what she wanted in life when they first meet, so that set her in motion and Stefan was the next best thing, because I seriously believe that if Damon never compelled her to forget about him, when they first met, she would have gone for Damon immediately and never give Stefan a second look. The point is that Stefan and Elena were linked to a certain period of their life that eventually even if Elena was still human would pass. Stefan and Elena have really little in common, she like to dance have fan, he doesn’t, he cares about reputation she doesn’t, she in impulsive, sometimes reckless he is restrained and cautious, he need her to be human because he can’t be around someone that is a fully operating vampire and enjoy that side, because of his blood problem. She never saw a future with him. He doesn’t challenge her; he is a yes man and she doesn’t want that. He treated her like a good kid, putting her in box, but Elena has her dark side too, that need to be expressed. So, no they aren’t compatible. And that is why I feel Stefan would be much more compatible with adorable, control freak Caroline, because they do have lots in common. Having said that it doesn’t mean that Elena and Stefan didn’t care for each other, when you share intimacy, difficulties and danger like they did, you are bound to be very close and fell affection. But her and Damon are really suited, he is the only one that can make her fell happy, alive, that can make her laugh, he never judge her, her relationship was based on trust, they are both impulsive and passionate, he always treat her like a woman, and stood up to her when he tough she was wrong, she loved that of him. They always find the way to be together, with all the obstacle that kept the apart, Stefan, the sire bond, the traveller spell, the other world, the memory erased, that proves that their personality match, they match in what they like, want, feel, need and nothing can change that. I loved that Damon told her that has human she would have still be with Stefan, to know what she would think about that, and also because Damon would never ever tarnish the love his brother had for her to her eyes, and because she doesn't remember all the details, and he would never take advantage of that to favour himself penalising Stefan, that is another measure of the love Damon has for his brother, and the level of respect he has for Elena, he is a gentleman through and through. And she realise that, in fact her answer to him was perfection, no chance, memory or not memory, human or not, you are my one, you are the one for me.

I don’t think Tyler was entirely out of line, I understand that she is in distress, and she is not thinking clearly, but when you are grieving, you have two way of doing that or you lean on your loved one and rely on that person to comfort you, or you don’t have a loved one so you deal with all the stages of grief taking bad decisions that should never be taken in an emotional state. Tyler felt she doesn’t care for him at all, he knows what grief means and his reaction was I am not going to deal with the feeling of losing someone else I love, that doesn’t care for me at the point that my feelings of hurts for losing her means absolutely nothing at all. And let’s remember that Tyler werewolf’s gene is pushing him, making him extra aggressive. I love how they always keep in mind the characters specific situations in how they behave and react.

I would say Tyler for sure is entitled to feel how he feels, it is totally ok that he is disappointed and sad that Liv chose his plan for vengeance over him. And you are correct that he is a Werewolf and is therefore more prone to respond aggressively, that doesn't mean that that is a good or healthy response though. We have seen werewolves being able to breathe or try to collect themselves to calm down, Tyler knows that as a werewolf he is prone to aggressive responses, so I think he should have used the time when she was passed out to calm himself or tell her, "I am too angry to talk right now, I need to think about this, lets talk about this tomorrow." And every persons' response to grief is different, and even if someone does receive support by family and friends, that someone can still do something “stupid” out of grief and despair. So I would agree with Harry that Tyler's behaviour wasn't ok. Being a Werewolf can't be an excuse to respond aggressively, and he should have been more understanding towards Liv. Don't get me wrong, I don't think what Liv did was the right thing to do, but it is for sure understandable giving her situation.

I didn't say I agree with Tyler necessarily. I just wanted to point out his point of view and the werewolf gene pushing him to be aggressive. He is not a werewolf anymore, he is back at the state he was in season one, and we've never seen another person who is not yet a werewolf apart from Tyler's father that was aggressive too and Mason told him he was like that too, but (after he became a werewolf and didn't specify that because Tyler didn't know any thing about it yet) he learn to control it . His werewolf gene is pushing him to make him kill someone, to come through, to make him a werewolf again. So it's not that he is different from others, he is the only real example we have of a pre-werewolf person behaviour, so is safe to assume that this is the norm for potential werewolves.

Kai got out of the prison world because he put Bonnie’s blood on the descendant, but Bonnie doesn't need the descendant to escape the prison world since she is a Bennett witch. I love that this episode used details from the movie Ghost. Jeremy opened the garage door because he tapped into his feelings for Bonnie, just like Patrick Swayze did in the movie to save the love of his life. Bonnie’s loneliness mirrors how Jeremy feels inside most of the time.
