Love seeing their friendships develop and seeing how they blend together, Grover is definately the glue holding them all together thats for sure 😂

Monsters do "die" but they do tend to come back after a long period of time. That's why this story involves re-encountering a lot of monsters that died in the original Greek myths. However, re: Mrs. Dodds. The furies work for Hades, so just like he spared Percy's mom from death, he's perfectly willing to save/reincarnate his own servants regularly to do his bidding.

I think one of the most interesting things about Percy as a "Chosen One" style protagonist is that he's weirdly more emotionally healthy than a lot of them. A lot of Chosen Ones are orphans lacking support systems, and let's be honest, a lot of the demigods at camp are kind of "orphans," too. Percy had the benefit of a loving parental figure and it's one of the things that makes him weird even among "his people" because he fundamentally doesn't understand the bartering system of love that the others are raised on.

Adult demigods in PJO are considered very rare, but there are some examples. In the books, Harriet Tubman, George Washington, William Shakespeare, Amelia Earhart, and Houdini were supposedly adult demigods.

One last tiny note - they don't explicitly state this, but Grover wears the shoes because they're flying shoes. If Percy were to wear them, it's the same issue as with flying in a plane.

I really enjoyed this episode. Medusa is a favorite of mine, and I absolutely loved this take on her
