I love this movie because of how well it flips the murder mystery genre. We see its not a murder and Marta's involvement extremely early and the rest is spent unraveling all the extra bits. The sequel Glass Onion is awesome too! It's not a sequel that continues the story from this movie, but it's Agatha Christie like where we follow Benoit Blanc as he solves another, completely unrelated, mystery!

A couple of details I liked: Harlan mentioning that Ransom was a lot like him, and then Ransom's murder plot was actually a lot like the setup that Harlan then came up with to save Marta. Also, Linda's husband's black eye at the end, lol.

A simple favour, who framed Roger rabbit and sherlock Holmes. Not a movie, but a short 3 episode mini series 'And then there were none' is also good.

The best murder mistery films ever are L.A. Confidetial, Memento, Seven, Scream (done by Kevin Williamson the writer of TVD) and last but not least The Conversation a masterpiece.

Also you mention whether a magnet could scramble a tape and in fact it can! VHS use magnetic tape to record information and it's read by being magnetized certain ways. If you bring another magnet, like a fridge magnet that Marta had then indeed that'll flip the magnetic tape and blank the data

!! Point of view) is Seven. You don’t see the ending coming until it’s too late to look away. The feeling of dread that creeps up on you throughout the film is a real testament to the brilliance of the acting , the clever cinematography and twisty script. Brad Pitt , a lot younger then, is a perfect foil to Morgan Freeman and a much better actor than he’s usually given credit for.
