Mapo - look at the 3 assigned Pictos for each character - they provide speed, critical, defense, health - for folks who scale with things that don't give them as much critical, defense or health or agility, you can make that difference up with stronger assigned 3 Pictos - so you can still max folks based on their preferred weapon to do the most damage and get the most out of the attribute points.
