Sparkly the Crow works a bit different in Demons Souls, you have to leave the world or die and then return there to get the new item (quit/reloading works too)

The necromancer's summons were practically invisible in OG DS, you mostly only saw their attacks as glowing balls of light at the end of their arms. It made them a lot cooler, I'm sad that Blue Point changed it :(
