"Cesarica" - Oliver Dragojević The golden threads of the summer dawn They came to her palace To wake my love Let the light kiss her face Pretty as an empress When I cannot love her The golden veil of her tulle She has captured my soul To throw her back into the sea Every night before dawn I come to her palace They were the palaces of my penance

Simon R.

Oh how I wish I could believe these wonderful depictions, But to a heart encased in stone they seem a lot like fictions. Where love is lost and never found, Where regrets do the conscience hound, Where bad memories keep you tightly bound, Is there still room to dream? Experience teaches those who dared, Heartache comes to those who cared, Bitterness sours memories shared, What sweetness will remain? To love yourself is eas‘ly said, But after relationships went bad, When sad mem’ries plague your head, Is there love to spare? With every time the heart has tried, A piece of it has surely died, The pain always intensified, Do I have the strength to bear it? So I return to fictional art, Where warmth is given from the start, Safe shall be the tired heart, No longer shall it break. One day it will lay to rest, Start wondring ,,did I do my best?“ Or did I fail the opening test, To find true love for someone dear? But I shall bow my head in peace, I tried, I failed, I played my piece, Now time has come for sweet release, To leave this lonely road. ‘til then I thank that heart of thyne, That filled the void inside of mine, With love just borrowed for a time, The things that make me bear it.
