I'm glad you're appreciating Hawk more as a character. He's a great character if not a great person. When he said that he felt no guilt during the lie detector test, he meant that he felt no guilt about being gay. He didn't feel guilt about having sex with men, receiving/giving gifts, being in love with Tim. It mirrors the way that Tim said during his confession to the priest that he felt pure when he was committing the sin (of having sex with a man). Nice parallel between the two of them
