Awww! I am so sad for Brayden still being heartsick/broken over Janice, especially since it has only been around 9 months…but I love how Noah and Lee tried to comfort him. Lee has such a wise, but also child like way to how she sees things. So silly and so smart.

I think that it's very intentional. They contrast eachother. Plot-wise: Noah got scrambled very heavily by soul damage; he has 3 of him, one of which is literally compressed trauma. Lee was held back by her demon runes, but she has always had her more humane side, which is why we love her. The plot has essentially allowed Lee to be herself, while Noah gets to deal with more and more of his issues as they get exacerbated, like an endless pile of work, only growing larger.

Maybe him starting down the godhood road is just the outward manifestation of what his internal self; his soul, mind, tri-self, willpower and all, all accumulated together actually adds up to what stage he is actually at. His outward self is starting to catch up with and accurately show what he really is on the inside. Like a good person that is a truly beautiful person on the inside but physically ugly on the outside, starting to change physically to match the beauty within, to become beautiful on the outside. I hope that made sense!!
