I didn't quite understand the daggers ability, not sure if it just didn't make sense or my brain isn't working at the moment, but I'm glad he was able to get something for his guild she that Raya is helping him leave safely and early. A person stabs something a whole bunch with the dagger to build up charge, taking a small amount of damage back since it's just a poor dagger, and when what they stab attacks the weilder it depletes some of the charge to redirect the entirety of the damage back to the target.
