My take on the episode is that Axel is scared (from past trauma) but he doesn’t realize it and Kai will discover Axels gay is so repressed down (because of said past trauma). Oh Axel definitely has some past trauma, and Kai’s life isn't what everyone thinks it is either. I think he doesn’t want to be part of his rich family, cos of what they make him do. Axel is probably trying to pay off family debt that isn’t his, while taking care of himself, cos he doesn’t have anyone. These two will find some common ground in all that. Both have some serious issues.

I don’t think Axel is paying off student debt. In earlier episodes they showed Axel went do his dad and asked if he could use his connections to borrow money to pay for school. His dad warned him against it bc the ppl are thugs who are not good to owe money to but let him do it when he’s insisted, so clearly the ppl Axel borrowed his school money from are Kai’s family

I mean, okay? I wasn't aware that there were teams, and it was a competition?? Was it really necessary to comment instead of just scrolling? Also, a lot of people deal with trauma by it developing into a kink - there is a reason so many S-Assult and/or DV survivors (including myself) develop CNC, bondage, and masochism kinks. Is it a healthy way to deal with that trauma? No, but it's a normal trauma response. It would not be unrealistic for it to be both a kink and trauma. Not only that, but a natural physiological response for some (not all) men is to, in fact, get an erection when nervous or scared. It would make perfect sense for Axel to be scared and embarrassed if he is one of the men that has this type of response. There is a high chance it is both trauma related and sexuality related.

Okay so my point of view is this Axel probably didn’t want to end up the way he did, he mostlikely grew up with those ideologies and a lot of trauma which caused him to lash out the way he has. Is outing someone okay? No. Not at all. I’m not excusing that. But you gotta take into account that this character probably has more layers than what’s being shown. Same thing with Kai. Kai we obviously know doesn’t like being in his dads business, he doesn’t like to hurt people, from what he did in this episode was instinct soley because he doesnt want Onyx to know. (understandable.) I think with these two I can see Axel and Kai becoming close due to switching rooms, and I think kai will actually learn to understand Axel and help him change slowly but surely. I really hope these two end up together in my opinion. And hopefully Axel can help kai see that he doesn’t need to be apart of his dads life either. I think these two will trauma bond, become closer, and develop feelings in the long run.

I like to think Kai is being overprotective of Onyx because he’s been the only true friend he’s found in a long while. Whereas Axel… he may be a big mean bully but if he has a trauma then he’s a poor baby right now. And I hope being with Kai may somehow help with him overcoming whatever it is
