Omfg this was so fricken sad, man! Kai’s father is a fricken asshat to the highest degree. To be able to instill such mental strength during a time of hardship is no easy feat. So, I can only assume that his upbringing made him feel as frozen and stuck as he thought Gin was in that cage, waiting for someone to shoot him loose.

I'm not sure. Okay, at first Kai didn't plan on falling in love with Axel. He just wanted to show him who was boss and punish him for his homophobia. But now that real feelings are involved and his father has already warned him? This is going to end very badly, Kai. It's going to be a very intense confrontation when Kai's father, Kai and Axel meet. And I'm looking forward to it.

personally i think axel can handle himself when it comes to kai’s dad and his goons. like idk, i just don’t think kai’s dad or his crew could actually handle axel lol did we all forget who the hell axel is?? he literally fought off two of kai’s dad’s goons and still talked his shit. yeah he was bruised up but let’s be real, axel is not an easy target. if he wanted to, he could easily be another loan shark or a little gang banger lol, to me he’s a little street banger fr, probably hella street smart from everything we’ve seen about him. and yeah kai’s from a “mafia gang” family but honestly i don’t think he’d hesitate to kill his dad if it came down to it. his dad basically raised him to suppress everything so you know kai’s been holding in years of anger and hate. like if his dad ever got axel, kai would not let that slide. but tbh this feels like foreshadowing. i can totally see kai’s dad getting ahold of axel, using his debt against him, maybe even bringing his dad into it somehow. and axel’s gonna have to fight for his life, he’s not going down easy. before that happens tho, i really think we’re gonna see axel and kai’s relationship start to blossom. axel’s slowly letting his walls down after their last moment and u can feel something changing between them. so yeah, the power of love is about to win again!!! axel and kai are gonna fall for each other so bad and i can’t wait to see it （╹◡╹）♡

I am not gonna lie. Kai’s Dad is indeed right, never to have a weakness when being in those situations so it will never be used against you. But the way he went about it by disposing of Gin instead of telling Kai to let the cat go instead was really sad. I’m glad Kai thought of that alternative by shooting a lock on the cage. Poor Kai though. The lore drop was crazy!

I have been reading this comic for around 3 years I think, and I loved it for Onyx and Keane. But now, it just feels like it’s only about these two randos and their toxic yaoi. It also feels like everyone has forgotten all of the awful shit Axel did? Like, did I miss a redemption arc? I just miss Onyx and Keane so much, especially since we are FINALLY at the end of the slow burn, they’ve been through so much 😭 I just wanna see them have their happily ever after. I know I’m super late to comment but this chapter was amazing! I was so scared that he was going to shoot the cat but I’m so glad he made the choice and aimed for the cage instead. i get why people feel mixed and wonder why pasta can’t just give axel and kai an arc already, but honestly, i don’t think she should, at least not yet. axel’s a main supporting character with a ton of baggage to unpack, and he plays such a big role in the main characters’ stories. there’s so much to unfold with him. i think that’s why pasta hasn’t done an arc yet, because axel’s not just some side dude, he’s the main supporting character (with kai tagging along, lol). yeah, our main boys are finally together, but they haven’t even talked about what happened when onyx left. we as readers know what happened, but does keane know? they literally only touched the tip of the iceberg. once axel and kai figure out their relationship, and axel starts understanding his sexuality, that’s when everything’s really gonna come together. it just takes time lol.

While I totally get where you’re coming from (we all started originally following the series for Onyx and Keane’s relationship), this is Pasta’s story, which means they get to tell it how they want. They put a lot of effort into creating something we get to read each week, and they have been more than generous in the past listening to readers’ input, even going so far as to create polls for character names and traits. This is something people look forward to reading each week because Pasta is the creator and ultimately calling the shots. If you don’t like the story, telling the artist to “fix it” to your liking is unfair to the artist and the followers of their story. Besides that, there is so much world building going on here. We still don’t have Axel’s backstory, but we have enough to know he’s a defensive bully for a reason. Maybe the Kai/Axel story arc ties in to Onyx/Keane’s story arc significantly. Regardless, this is Pasta’s story. If you want a specific story, you could write fan fiction or create your own comic. I mean, that’s how Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray were made, from turning from being a frustrated consumer to an inspired creator.

omg this episode made me cry so much. when i saw that kai's dad forced him to shoot the cat (cats are one of my favorite animals) i immediately started crying and i didn't stop and continued even after i finished. also i feel so bad for kai, his father can go to hell >:(

idk who is complaining about Kai and Axel getting screen time, but they are the reason I’m still here- I love Keane and Onyx but this is something new and interesting to follow. Kai and Axel are completely different characters with a different dynamic and it changes things up when the other characters have been on the screen for years 🤷🏽‍♀️ plus we know nothing about Axel’s back story and why he acts the way he does, which is relevant to Keane/Onyx. I also don’t know why people complain about Axel and Kai “getting” to move faster while Keane and Onyx took a long time before anything happened- they are different people w/ a different dynamic, and Kai literally comes from a gangster family (things are on the line so he has to decide), of course they would move at a faster speed! Alls this to say, let the author write their story how they want- I’m just happy to be here to see the masterpiece 🙌🏽
