Onyx distance plan has never made sense to me.Ethan putting it in head though does; ulterior motive. What reason, that stands to logic, do you give your 15 plus years long childhood friend for not being around them anymore? You have a emotional one(you think he likes someone else while you're in love with him),but if you tell him that than you will have to talk and apparently we can't have that. So you need another reason that's based on logic and there isn't one. There is no logical reason Onyx can give Keane for why two best friends have to suddenly keep their distance, and especially when you just reaffirmed to said friend how important he is to you just last night....

Keane (1) realized he's in love with Onyx, (2) found out there's something going on between Onyx and Ethan, which implies Onyx isn't straight, (3) has to speculate as to why Onyx wants to keep his distance from him. There are so many different possible scenarios as to how Keane will react and what he'll do

I’m actually delighted by this sneak peek; I’m excited to see Keane take a turn on the Yearn Train x3 though as other commenters have said, I wish he had other friends to process all this with! his family doesn’t seem super involved in his life, and it seems like he’s mostly only pals with Onyx and Hailey’s friend group, and neither Hailey nor Ethan are likely to be the best confidantes right now 😅 I doubt it’ll happen, but I think Keane and Hailey’s-bestie-whose-name-I-forget having a heart-to-heart about Keane’s new gay crisis would be very cute!

Sure best friends need space sometimes, and so do romantic partners even living in the same house like husbands and wives, but they have legitimate reasons. From Keane's point of view his best friend just said I need a break from you, through text at that, even though we cuddled last night,reaffirmed our closeness, and hung out all day. If he won't tell Keane the truth then he needs to give another legitimate reason for the fissure and he doesn't have one.

Yea,I wish Keane had someone to talk to. For all his unterior motives Ethan does narratively work as a semi- therapist for Onyx thoughts. Keane doesn't have anyone like that. Though maybe Axel can take the role lol. I also think it's weird that we have never seen even a glimpse of Keane's house or family. We have even seen Hailey's before his.

What bad (perfect) timing for that text Onyx. Let the drama begin! I'm an angst monster myself, but this is visit to the therapist level ish right here. 😩 Personally, I'm interested in seeing Keane yearn for Onyx the way he has been for him, but I feel like Onyx's text was reactive to Keane leaving to find Hailey. We all know he really doesn't want to keep any distance, he's just hurt and tired of feeling like a backseat, economy-class passenger on the Keane/Hailey train. Little does he know, Keane has now figured out who he's actually in love with, and Hailey was never his girlfriend (or even a prospect). All that dragging Lynx/Onyx around on his charades did Keane no favors. Now it's up to him to hurry up and make it clear what's really going on. It hurtsss so bad to see Keane crying his heart out, but I understand Onyx's pain here. 😔 While he had to see and hear Keane with his crush for so long (plus being acting a girl for him), at the same time he was also trying to make his own heart's groving voice being silenced. Onyx must feel like Keane chose Hailey over him, over their friendship... Yeah, it's so difficult. 😣 It's just that Keane didn't have any clue, that Onyx would even like someone. And there wasn't actually anything like that to tell to Keane, until he kissed Ethan (and i think Onyx doesn't know, that Ethan is speaking about them, like they are dating)... And just after that everything started to fall apart, so there was no place for Onyx to tell anything, while he got hurt even more and decided that some time off is better (which in their case hurts both even more). This is so clever story! 😊 Just wondering, how slow burn this might be...
