"I tried keeping a diary once. Not chronological, of course, but the trouble with time travel is one never seems to find the time.", The Doctor, "The Caves of Androzani" This is the directorial debut of Graeme Harper - other than some work on "Warrior's Gate" where he filled in for the temporarily fired original director. But he had been around on Classic Who shows as Production Assistant/Assistant Floor Manager as far back as Pertwee's "Colony in Space". Of course, after Classic Who, he came back as a director on a bunch of 10th Doctor stories like the "Rise of the Cybermen"/"The Age of Steel" 2-parter and some of the 2-parter finales, etc. He also did some Sarah Jane Adventure stories. (And we also saw him as one of the cast & crew dancing in David's "500 Miles" song-edit.) Another Bob Holmes script - something like his 15th - and one of his best. We haven't had a script from him since "The Power of Kroll" since 1979 - that's 5 years! Salateen/Android-Salateen is played by Robert Glenister. He came back to New Who playng Edison in "Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror" - so, another Classic+New Who merit-badge holder. "You will stand there until I've finished with you, and when you address me, you will call me sir.", Chellak, "The Caves of Androzani" Love that "sir" interchange that the Doctor and Peri get have with Chellak. "How does the celery help?", "If the gas is present, the celery turns purple.", "And then what do you do?", "I eat the celery. If nothing else, I'm sure it's good for my teeth.", Peri and the Doctor, "The Caves of Androzani" We finally get an explanation for the celery!
