Just when you think it couldn't get worse than The Two Doctors, we get this. This season keeps on going from bad to worse....

Yeah, everyone agreed then and now this is a real low point. Even by classic series standards, the effects are crap, and you especially have to love the plastic crystals getting visibly abraded by the rope. It also had to be severely re-edited when the first episode came in too long and the second too short, yet John Nathan-Turner refused to simply let them change the location of the cliffhanger. Nicola names it as her worst story, very frustrated at just being tied up the whole time, and Colin very dryly calls it "Perhaps not a classic" on the DVD.

"Bad? No, it's disastrous.", The Doctor, "Timelash" Well, sometimes you wait up until 2am to watch a reaction like "The Two Doctors" the moment it gets released - and sometimes you allow yourself to sleep in on Saturday morning at watch it at 10am because it's "Timelash - Part 1". "Let this be a further lesson. I will not tolerate any attempt to interfere with my plans.", Borad, "Timelash" Wait a moment - the Borad's face is familiar! It's Denis Carey who played Professor Chronotis in "Shada" (and also the Keeper of Traken). "Prepare the Timelash.", Tekker, "Timelash" Another "Blake's 7" cast member turns up - we had Jacqueline Pearce as Chessene last story. Of course we've seen Paul Darrow before - he was in "Doctor Who and the Silurians" (that was fifteen years ago - can you believe it?) playing Captain Hawkins (as a kind of pre-Mike Yates character). "Jo Grant. She used to travel with the Doctor.", Peri, "Timelash" A Jo Grant reference - we love Jo Grant! BTW: the picture was a BBC publicity still. "Only the two of you?", "Yes, travelling light this time", Tekker and the Doctor, "Timelash" Actually, in the original script, it was the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Susan group who had visited Karfel earlier. This is probably why this Tekker line asks about "Only the two of you?" "Well, this might give you something to write about, maybe", sesskasays, Reaction to "Timelash" That's a good idea!
